I've been single for 2 years (not by choice). I've been actively dating with no luck. For a long time I thought the issue was my weight so I lost 25 lbs. Recently, I started a dating an older man for the first time. He is 33 and I'm 25. He asked for monogamy (not to be my boyfriend, but for us to date monogamously). While that goes against my beliefs, I agreed. I expressed that for my needs to feel met I need to receive at least one text a day and, although he said yes, he does not comply with this. I recently learned that although I usually have a secure attachment style, his behavior leads me to act in an anxious attachment style way. I don't know if he's an avoidant attachment style or secure and i'm just overreacting. My responses to his behavior have led to severe bouts of depression and anxiety attacks that I overcome using coping skills. I'm not sure if my focus should be on myself and letting the relationship maintain its course and secretly not be monogamous so i'm able to get my needs met OR communicate that my needs aren't being met and I can't be monogamous which I think would lead to us ending what we have. As of today, I haven't heard from him in 4 days (completely unacceptable behavior for someone I am monogamous with).

Over the summer me and one of my close guy friends/coworkers dating for three months. He dumped me out of no where the week we started college then a month later had another girl. He was a lot more public with their relationship then with ours. When we dated he never tried to take a pic with me or acknowledge the fact that we were a couple. Which is one of the reasons I feel like if was just a fling and I didn't know it until after he dumped me. He broke up with the girl about two months ago and since then has been trying to go back to how things were with us before we started dating, cause after he dumped me he strung me along for a bit then started being jerkish. I gave up on trying to save our friendship when I found out he had a new girl one he actually called his girlfriend. My motto is to get revenge by killing them with kindness, so I've have been nothing but nice to him this entire time. At the same time I kept my distance by not texting him or having conversation with him alone. We have reestablish our friendship, dispite that fact that I don't trust him anymore cause he hurt me so bad. About a month ago he asked one of our friends if I was still dating "that guy" and she said he acted disappointed when she replied yes. (We recently broke up) We text now every so offend most of the time he texts me first. Last week was his bday so I got him a small gift that he would love and he hugged me for the first time ever. When we dating I was always the one that hugged him and he would hug me back out of response. While were at work we'll sometimes catch each others eyes and he'll smile at me and he always makes sure you said goodbye to me before we leave work which he never did before. Like he says bye and use one of my nicknames instead of bye guys or see you later. Is he just wanting to be best friends again or does he want me back? I never lost my feelings for him even when I hated him. I don't understand why, but I just can't get over him. It's stup

I started dating this guy months ago and one day in class I told my best friend how my boyfriend was leaving and how we were going to try a long distance relationship but she says "you two will never last, love doesn't exist so you shouldn't get caught up in it" then at lunch she says " are you sure you two are even dating, you don't hold hands, kiss or cuddle" my first thought was we are at lunch who would want to eat after seeing all of that but I didn't say it out loud... Then after lunch I was saying how great lunch was with my boyfriend ( to test her reaction of me being happy with him) she murmurs " you two should just break up already you two have no chance of a future".. I have a theory on why she is acting like this but I haven't been able to actually get proof... I think my friend had a crush on my boyfriend and is sick and tired of seeing us together... She has had another crush on a guy but another one of her friends started dating him so I feel like she is just giving up and doesn't want to see anyone happy... But then I tell my other friends what's going on and how she has been acting and one of my friends says " last week I went to her house and she was depressed because she didn't have a boyfriend" then she says " but then I went over again a few days ago and she was ranting on how no one should have a boyfriend until they are 16" I finally asked if the rumor about her liking my boyfriend was true and no one knew bc my friend likes to keep stuff like that secret... But people do tell me that they were super close friends and acted like they dated... it wouldn't change anything if she did like him honestly... What do you think about my problem
