I started dating this guy around a year ago and immediately red flags were swinging from the mountain tops. But here I am at 35 and still searching for Mr Right. We had great chemistry and shared a lot of the same interests!
But here came the red flags.. 1) he told me my neighbor had a nice ass 🙄 2) I was trainihg for a fitness competition and he wanted me to wear pink. Not my color, but he tries to convince me how good it looks by showing me a pic of a pink swim suit on his ex 🙄 3) He had nothing but 20 year olds on his FaceBook. I'm not the jealous type but I thought hmmm is he a creeper. Then I'm told by mutual friends he's leaving flirtatious comments on these girls pics. I ask him about it and of course they're just friends. 4). He's a Hooters regular. Listen, nothing wrong with the Hoots but when you're 45 and all the girls know you by name..
So anyway, I tell him I'm concerned but he assures me he's a great guy and I'm insecure. Well low and behold I find him texting a 21year old. She didn't seem interested, but he was "courting her." Offered her a job that paid her more than she currently has (he owns his own business). So I break up with him of course. And ohhhh here comes the flowers, the tears, the repentance, the I can't live without you. I give in after a month. He truly seemed sorry and I've made my share of mistakes in life. But I still had this horrible feeling and it led me to the unthinkable - I went through his phone 😳. And oh boy did the skeletons come out. Turns out skinny jeans is a Sugar Daddy. All those young girls on Facebook- well he was offering them financial assistance for "a sexual arrangement." Basic modern day prostitution. And he was on Sugar Daddy dot com and Craigslist parading through the encounters list. Puke. Now granted most of these were when we had broken up (I did break up with him several times over the red flags) but yuk right? Can someone like this truly change? Or should I run for the hills? He has changed it seems

Oversized vintage sweaters (usually plain and in neutral colors)

Also no makeup-other than a barely-there lipstick, and my hair is cut very short.

I also major in art history at an elite art school so I'm often writing, researching or working somehow (so I like to have a comfortable "uniform" going on).

I also do buy certain things from the guy's section, often sweaters (which are better quality and cheaper). I even have this denim jacket and have seen some guys with the same one.

However, for the (rare) night out, I get out the black dress and berry lipstick with flats or heels. As you see, either way I keep things simple.
I do love nail polish, in white, red, blues.

I used to not mind, as it's just my personal look, but now I'm starting to wonder if that's why guys are reluctant to approach me. Some of them look at me, even those that I think are attractive, but they don't say anything. This has happened to me for a while. What do you think?

Also, I'm black, so I don't know if that has influence (and most black girls that I know dress up every day).
