I have always heard my whole life "Honest is the best policy" which means telling the truth is better than a lie

but there is this guy in my grade he has buck teeth, is overweight and he also has a bit of vision impairment and wears glasses.
I have heard and seen some people in my grade pick on him and call him ugly.
He then came up to me and asked me if I think he is ugly and I told him no.

but that was a lie in my opinion I do also think he is unattractive looking I just did not want to hurt his feelings because he already has been told so many times by other people he is ugly.

How do I talk to my ex. We had a good but short relationship. We broke up because he hasn’t been physically or mentally himself lately. The past he was cheated on twice and gained a lot of weight over the year. He promised he would come back to me and we cried. He said he just needed time. This was on feb 2. I saw him for Super Bowl and that was the last time I saw him. Promised we would hang and still talk but as the weeks went on he seemed distant so I started distancing myself too only snap chatting. I noticed this girl has become more and more active on his social media accounts but he hasn’t posted anything about her ornpictures with her. It goes back to Super Bowl. So I am thinking they started talking back then. I just want to know the truth because I’m sitting here like a fool thinking he’s working on him and he’s going out with this girl. I feel lied to if that’s the case and really hurt. How do I bring it up or in a way maybe he would mention it? He hasn’t deleted me from social media or anything either. It just hurts someone telling you one thing and then doing the opposite
