In 1972 Joe Miller was on holiday in Kenya after graduating from Tulsa Junior College.

On a hike through the brush, he came across a young bull elephant standing with one leg raised In the air.

The elephant seemed distressed, so Joe approached it very carefully. He got down on one knee, inspected the elephants foot, and found a large piece of wood deeply embedded in It. As carefully and as gently as he could, Joe worked the wood out with his knife, after which the elephant gingerly put down Its foot.

The Elephant turned to Joe, and with a rather curious look on Its face, stared at him for several tense moments. Joe stood frozen thinking of nothing else but being trampled.

Eventually the elephant trumpeted loudly, turned, and walked away. Joe never forgot that elephant or the events of the day.

Thirty years later, Joe was walking through the Tulsa Zoo with his family. As they approached the elephant enclosure, one of the creatures turned and walked over to where Joe and his family were standing. The large bull elephant stared at Joe, lifted Its front foot off the ground, and then put it down. The elephant did that several times then trumpeted loudly, all the while staring at Joe.

Remembering the encounter in 1972, Joe couldn't help but wonder it this was the same elephant... Joe summoned up his courage, climbed over the railing, and made his way into the enclosure. He walked right up to the elephant and stared back in wonder. The elephant trumpeted again, wrapped its trunk around one of Joe's legs and slammed him against the railing, killing him Instantly.

Probably wasn’t the same elephant.

It is twelve o'two, I get dressed & make my way to get a cup of coffee

A glass mug getting its fill, I notice the plastic throwaways, the lids & cups are next to each other on the shelf

I step into the kitchen to take stock of anything to eat,

I stand still & stare into half an empty sink

next to me he says “what’s wrong with you?

your mother thinks you’re depressed”

I go grab to grab my cup & leave

“You don’t know how lucky you are

you’re white

you’re a man

you live in America, in one of the most affluent states”

“My god, dad”

the atheist then left that room to drink his coffee elsewhere,

the cable box is stuck, frozen up upon entry

but that was for the best

Turning on some truth from mytube I quickly notice thereafter

a truth more pressing,

it is twelve-eleven

Back to the machine to make a coffee for class, soon

The specious truth of the lid & the cup are a lie

it’s huge & needing to be bent on

“Who put these lids & cups together?”

“I did, they were right beside each other…”

From another room I swap the stack of lids with the right ones

“…so they must have been separated”

I forego the bag, not needing it today

I pull out of the driveway with the drink besides me & stare blankly up the street ahead into a future

as one would down the barrel of a gun

The vaporizer quickly ran out of charge on the way

leaving me with only the clouds above to look up to as I pulled into a busy & hurried campus

In the knick of time I arrive as class commenced

but it didn’t matter

Math had some hurdles, but some victories, didn’t need to say a word to anyone

in fact

it went well enough but for one thing,

I had forgotten the damn drink

People left early & so did I,

it was warm enough to stomach

which I did before pulling out of the parking lot & heading back towards that house

white enough to smile at passing cop cars

male enough to jerk myself off at the intersections

American enough to salute the hanging flags on the streets

& aff

Morgan Freeman has issued an apology for making women feel "uneasy," following a report in which eight women alleged that he sexually harassed them or made inappropriate remarks. Source

"Anyone who knows me or has worked with me knows I am not someone who would intentionally offend or knowingly make anyone feel uneasy," Freeman said in a statement obtained by Variety. "I apologize to anyone who felt uncomfortable or disrespected -- that was never my intent."

A production assistant who worked on "Going In Style" alleges Freeman subjected her to unwanted touching and comments about her figure on a regular basis. She alleges Freeman would comment on her figure and clothing, and that he would rest his hand on her lower back or rub her lower back. In one instance, she said that Freeman "kept trying to lift up my skirt and asking if I was wearing underwear." At one point, she recalled, "Alan made a comment telling him to stop. Morgan got freaked out and didn't know what to say." Freeman's alleged behavior extended beyond "Going In Style." A female senior production staffer of Freeman's 2012 film "Now You See Me" reported a similar pattern of behavior. "He did comment on our bodies," she said. "We knew that if he was coming by... not to wear any top that would show our breasts, not to wear anything that would show our bottoms, meaning not wearing clothes that [were] fitted." The women accusing Freeman have worked with the now 80-year-old actor both on movie sets and at his production company Revelations Entertainment. They said they changed the way they dressed when they knew Freeman would be around to avoid his behavior. Each of the women said they didn't report him, most citing that they feared for their jobs. One time he stopped, looked me up and down as I walked into a room of people, and everyone burst out laughing. And I literally froze feeling very uncomfortable and one of the people in the office said, "Don't worry, that's just Morgan.'"
