In a LOT of anime, the characters either react in a Tsundere manner when complimented and being called cute, or as a super shy character, often finding difficulty talking to the person who called them cute.
Another thing in anime is the HEAVY blushing.

So I am making this post to see how similar and realistic these traits are by asking people how they behave when faced with this scenario.

I also will agree that it depends on the person who gives that said compliment as it will affect you differently depending on who it is.

I myself become shy about it when a girl older than me says this but if it is a girl who is younger than me, I take the compliment and compliment them back.

If a guy calls me cute, I often have to determine if the word is meant in the complimenting or mocking way, either way I don't get awkward about it :)

I have been told by others that I blush easily at many things though, so it is probably hard for people to decide if I am embarrassed about something or just captivated about something super cute or overwhelmed by the compliment I was given :D

Im curious to how everyone thinks of whether or not men and women are equal. As a small example this guy got a lot of flak for saying a specific department would be generally difficult for majority of women to do. Since it involves a lot of sustained heavy lifting. Moving numerous boxes of product 40-50lbs. (Around 40ish so boxes). So he was told he was being sexist since he had said a 4ft 100lb 23 yr old girl wouldn't fit very well back there. They gave her a chance and things went just as the guy had said. Was he being sexist or realistic about her and majority of women?
