I've been reading some signs, and I think my crush likes me back. The thing is, it seems like he is disinterested sometimes (talking in a really low, calm voice). Even when he gives me compliments and stuff, he seems overly calm. Could it be he is hiding his interest in me, or does he just see me as a friend?

We used to have a lot of fun hanging out with his friends (I am friends with his friends too)
He would smile at me in the halls and make eye contact. (I definitely feel like it was different from the hellos I get from my other guy friends.)
But ever since the new semester started and we weren't in the same class, things moved so slow. He still gives me compliments on stuff to this day. When we are talking, he makes eye contact, but he never makes eye contact in the hallway. I can say it's like we don't really know each other, other then the few minutes when we're talking. Friends can make eye contact with each other in the hallway, so I don't know what his deal is with not looking at me even when all his friends look at me. There was a few times I saw him looking at me while I was laughing and talking to my friends, but it was probably just a coincidence. Plus, he has this close friend who is a girl. That girl has liked him before and he made fun of her once for liking him in the past. I feel like he likes her...

like he likes me back, but I don't know. Thing is, sometimes we're very awkward around each other. For example, my friend wanted maccas today and it was just her, the guy i like and i. the guy i like and i didn't go in, but my friend went in so i sat down at a table and he came and he sat at a different table across mine but didn't say a word to me? We're pretty awkward when we're alone. But, he does stare at me quite a lot and sometimes I feel like he tries to be close to me? Seems like he's just really subtle with his feelings? He's not a shy guy, so I don't think he's shy... unless he's just shy around girls he likes. Also, for example, when I'm around guys he's friends with, he'll come over and try to turn them away from talking to me? And today I was talking to his friends (our friends) and he was looking.
