Ok I know those are basically 2 questions but I really want to hear people's opinions on this.

For as long as I can remember, I have felt depressed. It's got worse recently and I've started to realise that suicide is possibly an inevitable end for me. I'm trying to deal with it and I've recently started therapy but what I want to know is does the fact that I've felt like this suggest that I'm naturally weak or flawed in some way.

Also, most girls seem to want a strong, confident guy. I have low confidence and virtually no self esteem. Plus they want a guy who can 'protect' them (or at least make them feel protected).

Even if I improve, does the fact that I was weak enough to allow my life to get to this point mean I won't ever be good enough for any woman to respect or love?

I'll ask the question here and give personal details further down.

I've gotten the impression that guys are expected to be strong and confident. Girls for example seem to like strong guys. I don't feel strong so I'm curious:
Does being depressed and thinking of suicide make me weak?
If so, does that affect whether people could respect or love me?

I won't go into too much detail but basically ever since I was young, I was a bit of a loner. I've never had many friends and things like self esteem and confidence have always been issues. I was good at school but had no social life and I've never had a girlfriend (I'm 21). I've had a few issues with bullying and I was never capable of REALLY standing up for myself. Also, motivation is a big problem for me and I find it hard to be ambitious as a result of my low self esteem.
