One went through my emails determined to prove I was cheating, because I had so many options. He started yelling at me for emails he found from 5 years before we even met! I went on a date with a guy when we were just friends (before dating), and he tried to convince me the guy made a sex tape and he blackmailed the guy into not releasing me to save me. The guy and I never even had sex. We were fully clothed the whole time, kissed a bit, and then I decided he was not for me at all. He snuck into my phone and stole pictures I had from years before. He went on my social media and deleted any man.

He and others attacked male friends to me.

Other guys constantly ask me who I have been with recently and scoff with disbelief when I say no one. They say, "A hot girl like you? Yeah right. You have men knocking down your door." Yes, but I don't want to have sex with every guy who pursues me.

The most recent ex turned it into a competition in his head. He saw that if I actually tried I could get over 1,000 date offers in 24 hours. It really messed with him. He spent years trying to get attention from other women as if it was a competition. He kept cheating with girls way below even his own standards, because he was afraid he'd never get the chance again. He felt validated for a moment until the next 100 rejections piled on and he felt lonely, desperate, and worthless again. He lost his family over it. He didn't even really like the girls or the sex. He had better at home in every way, but he became obsessed. We couldn't even have sex because he lost all of the confidence that attracted me to him and couldn't perform. It really changed him for the worst. He lost sight of what he had over something so petty.

So my ex and I were together for 5 months in college we just broke up two weeks ago

Cons
-He Can’t do distance (separation anxiety/don't feel like he'd be giving me the attention I deserve)
-He said that he doesn't want a relationship right now because he has always been a relationship guy and wants to experience what it's like to be single
-He wasn't making me a priority and that he doesn't feel like putting time into a relationship if he's going to half ass it or doesn’t see it in the long run
-Doesn’t want me to feel trapped waiting for him, says to take advantage of other opportunities
- We took a break before we broke up because he didn't really want to break up

Pros
-He has told me multiple times that there is a possibility of getting back together next semester
-He has promised me we would stay friends too
-He made it very clear he doesn't intend on seeing other people, he just wants to focus on himself (doesn't do random hookups)
-He told me he hasn't lost feelings
-We still text and snapchat every single day
-We are also planning on visiting each other over the summer too
-Plus we agreed that if we both still wanted to hooking up was on the table
-My name is still my nickname in his phone
- We both would never date anyone from home so we will both be single next semester
- We agreed we could still hookup if we both wanted to, my idea
- His friends and family love me

PLEASE HELP I AM SO CONFUSED :(

So my ex and I were together for 5 months in college. We were planning on taking a break over the summer because we live a few hours away from each other and both don't like long distance, then get back together next semester. However with this Corona Virus, we had to leave for home earlier than expected so we decided to talk.

He said that he doesn't think he wants a relationship right now because he has always been a relationship guy and wants to experience what it's like to be single. He made it very clear it wasn't to see other people (he isn't the random hookup type AT ALL) he just wants to focus on himself. He also said he wasn't making me a priority and that he doesn't feel like putting time into a relationship if he's going to half ass it (he takes relationships very seriously). But he told me he hasn't lost feelings. So coupled with all that and the fact that we would be hours apart for 6 months, we decided to break up.

He has told me multiple times that there is a possibility of getting back together next semester, and he has promised me we would stay friends too. We still text and snapchat every single day, not a lot, but enough. We are also planning on visiting each other over the summer too. Plus we agreed that if we both still wanted to hooking up was on the table, my idea.

We both DO NOT want to date someone from home so we will both be single next semester... Do you guys think that he is being honest and that we will get back together or is he just sparing my feelings? I would really appreciate it if you guys could give me your opinion because I'm overthinking everything. :(
