I've been talking to this guy and we're not a couple yet but were just getting to know each other. We both seem to really like each other and we talk about the future a lot together and how excited we both are. He would consider this a romantic relationship.

Anyways he's been telling me things like:
Lets not jinx things and be realistic (im the same way)
Don't set your expectations high on me , you may not like how i am in person
Im sure I'd really like you in person
Compliments me a lot
Asks me questions
Tells me he really likes me

He seems to be insecure with himself and worries i might not like him in person. He also doesn't want to get his hopes up with us just incase it doesn't work out. One minute he comes off as cocky the next he comes off as shy. He isn't use to so much praise i give him. We both seem to be really realistic about things. he's just not use to some of the things. He hasn't had a real relationship in person before. he's had online relationships

I have been talking to this guy for a little over a month , we have things in common, although there were a couple hiccups in the beginning we worked them through. We both like each other and we would either video call every other day or send snap videos.. we now made it a thing to video call every weekend and when we do its between 1-3 hours. He calls this a relationship.

We haven't met yet due to the pandemic and he said he's willing to wait and that he's in this for the long haul/prize at the end. He would say things like : i want you, need you, i really like you, compliments me a lot. Asks me questions. He seems to be willing to talk about things and be mature about things. He said he feels the L word but wants to hold back from saying it.. he told me right now its a lust feeling and he knows its too soon to say it. We're both not talking to anyone and just talking/interested in each other

I'm not really sad anymore about the breakup, i reflect on the relationship and i can see some things that i didn't see when i was with him. I've wrote thank you and forgiving letters to myself about what he did. I've done a lot of grieving and self work on myself and learned a lot. We were only together for half a year. The breakup in a way was blindsided because i thought we could work on it but at the end he was an asshole. he asked me a question before if we were to take a break and told me were not taking a break or breaking up just to break up with me a few days later. I've come to notice talking to someone else and potentially having a relationship my walls are up and emotions are like frozen. I get excited about the new guy but then its like back to feeling nothing sometimes.

In the beginning he told me he wants to be there for me and be apart of my mess and we will get through anything just to have him breakup with me. Not work on something which ultimately would have more issues down the road so its good we broke up but i thought we could work on it if we really "loved each other". Addiction got the best of him and blindsided me in a way.

I have been talking to this guy for almost a month, in the beginning we had some misunderstandings and he was pushy to meet but we talked about everything and its all good. He is younger than me and hasn't properly had a relationship before in person. he's a very sexual person.

He would say some things like:
I want you
I need you
I have a yearning for you
I'm excited to meet you
He would compliment me a lot
He asks me questions about myself especially about this one male friend of mine.
He said he wants sex with me but he also wants everything that comes with a relationship. He has been saying that he is thinking about wanting to have babies with me.
He would say things like he wants to hug, cuddle, comfort me etc.
He would ask about how i was feeling after a situation i was going through. He seems really excited to meet and see me, he said that he's willing to wait for me and that im worth it. We would talk about the future together, thinking about possibly being the one for each other. He usually would want to meet someone right away but he calmed down a bit and told me he's willing to wait etc.

I am venting and know I might get some hate for this. I’m 26 with no real dating history. I’ve had a short term relationship which was absolute shit. I was told in HS and college to wait it out, be patient and focus on your education. Years later, I’m graduated, own my place and have a decent living. I don’t necessarily want kids but I just don’t get my lack of suitors. I know I’m not a ten, at least cute. People have complimented my looks, I struggled with my weight growing up. I was chubbier so I can see how in Hs I was overlooked. Now I’m thinner, I gained a bit of weight during COVID but am close to my smallest weight from 3 years ago. I looked alright in college and never got approached. I hate when people ask why I don’t have a man and while that question can either be a compliment or just a dig to get into my business, I wonder myself. I’ve been on the dating apps for years and have called quits, was on and off. I was just frustrated with the guys that came my way. I always attract the men I would not want to date physically, hence why that short term relationship I had did not work. On the rare occasion I send a message first, it fizzled out very quick. When guys message me first, it goes a little further. The cute guys are usually dicks, the decent looking guys are alright but a little too short for my preferences and the less attractive guys are always pursuing. They have decent personalities but just not what I want in a man. Am I just cursed or too picky?
