I do believe the "birds of a feather flock together" principle and is true. I honestly don't care how my friends look but I find that certain personality/lifestyle types dress a certain way and I base friendships off personality and lifestyle. I want more friends because my social life is lacking. I lost contact with a lot that changed in college; we no longer click nor do they want to be bothered.

In class, I hardly see girls who dress like me around. I a few on campus and I'll compliment their outfit but I'm not sure how to initiate friendships with a stranger. It's like all glammed up or plain jane and I feel stuck in the middle.

I try to befriend girls who dress similar to me or way more casual since I feel comfortable around them and usually have similar personalities. Unfortunately they are often mean to me.

Girls that dress nice try to befriend me. I'm talking stylish where guys are all over them and try to talk to them! Guys still act like I'm invisible unless I talk to them first.
I don't dress up as much as them so I don't get why they want to be my friend. I'm always skeptical because I feel like they're being fake. I tend to judge and assume them as "mean girls" and think that they want me to be their *D. U. F. F. Sometimes I find out later these girls are kind and have personalities similar to me so I feel bad to have wrongly judged but I can't help it.

I love their style and wish I had the guts to wear hot outfits but I'm too self conscious of showing skin.

So there's this kid at my school that nobody likes. He's a smart guy ( great at math) but he's socially awkward. Kids at school always tell him he's weird, ugly and a few people told him he needs to kill himself or they wouldn't care if he ended up dead or stopped showing up to school. In fact this is what his old friends used to say behind his back. At the school he's been voted as the guy who will win the lottery and lose the ticket two times in a row, it's even in the yearbook. It's supposed to be a joke but it's quite weird that he was voted twice. There was another selection in the yearbook that said cutest couple that never was and a few people voted for me and him. We didn't get voted in the yearbook and he was so happy about it, than I realized why he was happy because people were making fun of us and didn't take us seriously. In fact one of the dudes in our class referred to us as thing one and thing two. :/

One time I told the teacher I'd be leaving early and the few boys in the classroom started cheering and one suggested that I should miss more days of school. Is this normal for high school and does stuff like this still happen after high school? When everyone turns into an adult, do most people still act this way?
