So what I mean is like hugging someone one day while they're wearing a t-shirt and jeans, where all that's making contact is fabric and not really any bare skin... versus hugging someone another day while they're wearing a swimsuit, and lots of bare skin is making contact. Anything below this is just my personal experience, not mandatory to read.

I personally have always refrained from hugging someone wherever my bare skin would make contact with theirs (like if we were both wearing swimsuits), because I've always felt it's a bit too personal. When hugging them when they're wearing clothes that do cover them up (t-shirt and jeans) it's really not much, as it's just the fabric making contact... but the actual bare skin? It's a lot more personal if you ask me.

When tapping someone and maybe their bare arms and back are exposed... I always try really hard to tap them somewhere where there's fabric, and where my bare hand won't make contact with their bare skin.

However, I don't mind hugging my girlfriend or tapping her, regardless of what she wears. When we first went to the beach together, she didn't give the bare skin thing a second thought... she just hugged me as she usually did. And as such, I hug her regardless of the bare skin problem I usually have. I also don't mind tapping her bare shoulder, or her bare back. It's really nice, actually, since her skin is unbelievably soft, silky, and smooth.

But that's just because she's my GIRLFRIEND. I don't mind if it's personal, since it's with the girl I love.

However, if it was another girl besides her, or anyone else in general... like I said, I'm just not comfortable with it, as I feel it's too personal.

I also try to avoid hugging people not only in swimsuits, but if they're wearing shorts/skirts/dresses above the knee, or if they're wearing anything sleeveless, or a backless top, or a crop top, since it's possible our bare skin will make contact.

And yeah... I was wondering if I'm the only one like this.
