Search Results: why does he ignore me hurts

I am quite perplexed on why he ran off... again. I was dating a younger guy (an Aries if that matters), for about 6 months. After 2 months of dating he disappeared for a month. I called him once or twice and left it alone and moved on. When he finally did call, he told me he had been going through some things and he didn't want to bother me with it and stress me out. He wanted to work through it himself. Of course, I let him have it but I forgave him and we moved on. Shortly after that, I had to move 3 hours away and I assumed we were just going to break up. However, to my surprise he told me he wanted to see if we could make it work because he really cared about me. Well I moved and saw him once after; never heard from him again. Fast forward 2 months and he started calling and texting me. I ignored him but lucky for him I have a bad habit of just picking up my phone without seeing whos calling when it's late for fear it's a family member in trouble. Once again, he apologized and told me he was deeply sorry for hurting me, missed me, cared about me, blah blah, blah. And he owned up to having a communication problem and we wanted to work on that but he really missed me. In my head I'm saying whatever, but from my mouth I say "ok I hear you and I understand." After we started a normal conversation, he made me promise to call him tomorrow (today). When I said I would, he told me he loved me. Completely shocked I just said "ok". He says, "so you're not going to say anything?" LIke I told him, I didn't know what to say because he had never said it before. So in the end he just tells me he does and if he never said it, he meant to. Well today is tomorrow and as promised, I called. Guess what, it's been 10 hours since I called him and no return call or text. I'm lost! Did I hurt his feelings by not saying it back or was he just saying it because he wanted to know if I would say it back? Or... I'm confused.
