He's an Arab Muslim and he immigrated to America when he was a teenager. He's okay with dating and marrying a non muslim, and doesn't require her to convert to Islam. He's a family man. He pays great to respect to his father, and his father lives in his house as well. His an old, quiet and friendly man. He has 5 kids from his previous wife (who is muslim too) and he has full custody of all five kids. He is very protective of his 5 kids and he puts them as his first priority. He doesn't want you to raise them, discipline them or teach them things that goes against his parenting. The court did not give his previous wife any visitation rights or any legal rights concerning the children. He doesn't desire anymore children. He's okay with having more children if only his new wife wants to have a child and agrees to allow the child to be raised up as a muslim. He and his previous wife are arch enemies. The previous wife does write letters to some of the kids and the kids do write letters back, but she doesn't want to see any of them ever again.

We dated 8 years ago. We never had sex. Our relationship lasted only a month because he went back to his ex girlfriend. It was a bad break up since he did not even dump me. He just went MIA. After we broke up, he went down the wrong path and got arrested. He was obviously hanging around bad people. He was just a bad person. All of our mutual friends don’t like him. He and his ex also broke up not long after.

Fast forward today (8 years later), he all of sudden followed me on Instagram and messaged me. We are both single and have the same type of dog. We also share a lot similarities. We exchanged numbers started texting. He claims that he makes good money as a mortgage broker and wants to be a boss one day. He also claims that he has changed a lot and called his old self stupid. Honestly, he sometimes sounds “conceited” and somewhat rude which pisses me off. For example, I told him I found out Dominican men really likes me... he responded “No, I think they just like everyone”. I cooked dinner, took pictures of the food I made, and sent it to him. His response was, “It looks okay, I cook better and my friends always compliment my cooking... i make the best pasta dishes!!!” He also seems to underestimate what I do and a bit judgmental. Honestly, it’s a super turn off the way he talks.

He asked me out to dinner on Friday and going out with his friends for drinks later. I’m thinking to bail. My best friend suggested me to just go and see what happens. I’m not even sure if he is interested or just wanna be friends. Also, my sister saw him on a dating app (maybe he is desperate).

Should I just bail? And forget about him?

It's been 1 year and 4 months of dating. He's 41, I'm 28. We get along great regardless of the age gap because he's into his toys (motorcycles & race cars) while I'm a mommy of a 3 year old from a previous relationship. He's obviously older and said he wants marriage and a child very soon.

He RENTS his 2 bedroom apartment and spends all the money on his car stuff. Even when we go out to eat he rarely pays for my meals! He doesn't really buy me gifts except for special occasions. (i'm not a materialistic person but I'm poor as all get out!) Living with parents, on government assistance... sometimes I get stressed on how to afford food each month! Anyway, we are taking a premarital course now at church. Only a month to go until it's over! We aren't having sex either and that's getting difficult. So here I thought he'd ask me soon. We have a little weekend getaway coming up to another state. But then he flat out told me last week a proposal isn't happening during our trip. I've been pretty crushed ever since!

How much longer should I wait for this guy? He complains how I'm emotional and need to work on myself. I feel like there is all this pressure to be perfect. Yet I serve in other ways like cooking dinners, cleaning his place and always traveling to him several times a week. I do suffer from anxiety issues and past traumas and this seems to really wear on him because he doesn't know how to help me. (Isn't that what therapists are for?)

We do really compliment each other and love each other though. I have never felt so connected to another person, and we have not gone a day without communicating in some form. Plus he has a wonderful connection with my daughter. I couldn't imagine getting back into that dating scene! But here I am. I'm still young, I have a lot of love to give and I'm worthy of having a man being so excited to put a ring on it and show the world i'm his! What's with my guy? When should I throw in the towel and call it quits?
