A few times I've been trying to hook up with hot guys who were very cocky f*ck boys at parties and clubs, every time some nice guy comes over and gets in the way, one guy even called the police saying the guy I was with was trying to date rape me. Thing is these guys only want me for themselves and are always sniffing around me. Like I've had female friends do it but these guys are creepy and possessive.

I found an old friend/acquaintance I used to enjoy talking to nearly daily in high school, but lost contact with after high school, on Instagram. They have no other social media and no photos on their Instagram, so I'm not even sure they really use it. They also have no mutual followers or people we would both know. We weren't best friends or anything, but got along well and talked to each other a lot. I'd like to try to say hi, but don't want to be weird or creepy, especially since we are of the opposite sexes (I'm a girl and he's a guy). Is there a way to not be awkward about it, or am I just overthinking it? How would you feel if you received a message from an old friend on social media after nearly 10 years?
