Why would this guy like my pics on instagram even if he never replied to my message?

He was interested before in going on a date but he always got cold feet and I thought he wasn't interested... then he started liking my pics and I sent him a message asking if he still is interested, and he left it on read!!!

Now he still likes my pics. We have never met and every time we talked he showed interest... He looks/acts kinda shy, but I don't know him and I really don't understand. Would a guy like a girls pics just to be polite?

Well the first time he saw was when he was rehearsing on stage a few days before our actual performance. As i walked in he stared at me while performing and when he climed off stage he kept staring and while walking past he kept looking (maybe he was curious). On our performance night, i was leaning agasint the wall on the other side of the room watching the performance i was looking around and i caught him staring right at me from a distance he turned his head quickly as far as i remember when i caught him and It was packed and kinda dark but we saw each other. I looked back at the stage and back at him and it was like he followed me with his eyes and we made eye contact. 2 weeks ago i saw him, i was reading my music notes near the door he came in and as soon as he saw me he put his head down, hand in his pocket and walked away quickly he was going to his lesson. I was avoiding him cause i was super nervous. My guy friend and my cousin said he may like me and was shy when he saw me after a month later.
