I’m talking a guy that you actually like and want something serious with, not settling. I’m 27 and am convinced that I am cursed in love. I’m very reserved and not really sexual at all, I’m probably on the lower spectrum when it comes to a drive. But I really don’t think I’m bad looking, I’ve been told I’m cute and do what I can to look presentable. I never got asked out in hs, at work, college social settings etc. I mean most girls I talk to speak about how they’re current boyfriend approached them in a random place or through friends, or when this cute guy chatted with them. I’ve been told that guys have looked at me when I was out but they actually NEVER do anything about it. If they do, it’s not the guy I’d go for. The only guys I met were through dating apps and I was on them on and off, I even tried bumble because it kind of puts me in control but my luck has still been shit. I’m really tired of blaming myself, I think it’s just bad luck. I’m not settling, I just don’t think dating is this hard for the average lady.

27F, I’ve been on and off for years. Most of the time, the guys always sent the first message. However, the guys that usually made the first move I didn’t like back or vice versa. For a few months, I’ve been on bumble. Guys have replied and I met up with a guy for the first time from bumble last week but I didn’t feel anything. A lot of women have said they had more success in dating when they approached the guy first but I’m still having no luck. I figured maybe being the initiator versus apps where guys can make the first move would change my luck but not the case. When I ask my mother why I’ve had no success she says I just haven’t met the right guy and that gets me so livid. When I was told this at 21 that’s one thing but from the looks of it I’ll be hearing this at 40. Im not a confident person but really don’t think im terrible looking, most women seem to get approached by guys and I’ve never been approached by a guy I’d want to date. If I would have went out with other guys that took initiative so far, I would have settled and been miserable. Is that fair to me or the guy? No. Why can I achieve everything I’ve had but not find someone I like that likes me back? I’m trying bumble and no different from when the guys messages first.
