Search Results: always questioning me

my mother and I constantly fight. she always tried to make me do things the way she would do them. and for me it does not work her way. maybe her way might be better, but I cannot think about things that way.

I hate when she tries to give me advice or tell me that the way I am going about my life is wrong. like yesterday I told her that a woman from a recreation centre contacted me by email saying that she wanted to set up a phone interview for a position that is opening up there. she did not get excited or even say 'that is great' or anything. she just went into her usual talk about how other people are doing this and that and how I should go to university and upgrade.

anyways she tried to make me sit with her and go over questions that somebody might ask in the phone interview and she is asking me how I will respond to their opening hello and how I would introduce myself and all that. I don't know if I am hard headed and just want to do things on my own, but I got angry with the things she was questioning me on. I can't think in those circumstances, I have always had trouble speaking to my mother because she is judgmental and makes me think her way.

I don't know how they are going to introduce and open the conversation with me. I just think maybe I do not like talking to my mother and I get frustrated with her tone and the way she goes about it. I don't know maybe I am just f***ed in the head.

I can talk to my father about that stuff because he thinks like me. He just wants to tell me the questions that are going to be asked. I can make up questions that they might ask and go over them, but I want to do it on my own if I do it at all.

Usually we are able to get back to being fine with each other and we usually have some kind of laugh later, but I know that her thoughts are always in the background. always thinking about the negative stuff and worrying about everything.

Am I just f***ed up or does everybody have a parent that they cannot relate to or speak to?

Do you and the parent that you cannot relate to or are not similar to fight a lot?
