i definetely feel like i think about the future a lot, but sometimes i feel like it gets in the way of things i want to do now, and I don't know which part of myself to listen. for instance, i have a lot of goals and things i want to accomplish, the biggest being having a family and raising kids and being able to support them. as a result, i try really hard in school because i want to get into a good college to get a good job. i also try to stay out of trouble so that i dont ruin my chances of a good future. i also avoid relationships because i dont want a guy to get in the way of my set plans for the future.

but at the same time, a little part of me wants to experience hs and just the present in general. im so focused on good grades that i rarely go out and do anything with friends. it also stresses me out a ton and is simply no fun. likewise, i also want a boyfriend. i may have a shot at a relationship rn, but the future-oriented part of me tells me to forget about him! that he's only gonna get in the way of schoolwork, the chances of you even marrying him are slim, so he'll just be a heartbreak and a waste of time, plus its unlikely we will both go to the same college etc etc etc. i just dont know what to do.

if i forget about my future and focus on what makes me happy now, i may regret that in the future if i mess things up, but if i only focus on the future, i might regret that i did nothing fun in my younger years

I'm in a long distance relationship with my boyfriend for a while now. Lately, for the past several months, he sucks at texting me which is the bulk of our communication anymore. He'll go a day or as long as 4-5 days without texting me or anything, or not responding to me... Only to come up with some excuse of being too busy. Last year around this time, this was never an issue.

But texting literally takes seconds. I've told him all he had to do was just say hi, good morning, something. But that's such a hassle for him. He's never too busy because he can talk to other people every day but not me. He's told me before that he knows people that go months without talking. Okay? Good for them. They aren't in long distance relationships. To me, it shows he doesn't care and I'm sick of having to drop everything when he either wants to vent to me, or wants something from me. But when I need him for support, he doesn't care or he doesn't respond in a timely manner. I'm frustrated.

To me, it seems like he doesn't care. Does anyone else think that?

So I kinda hurt my boyfriend, I didn't cheat on him or didn't do anything bad. I braided a guy friends hair and and didn't tell him cuz to me its no big deal and completely meaningless. His main problem is that I didn't tell him and this is why he's mad, upset, hurt or jealous.
I realized my mistake, so on Thursday I texted him and sincerely apologised.
He replied that this week he wants some space, some personal things are not working out right now and the fact that I didn't tell him and he doesn't want to talk about it right now.
I said okay and added that I'm always honest with him (he knows this) and thats why I feel so bad and guilty about it. Then he said "like I said, this week I want some space".


He's had some bad relationships in the past (got cheated on etc) so I understand that he is upset. I haven't texted him since Thursday, I'm giving him the space he is asking for and hoping that after this everything will go back to normal.

Like honestly, what is his problem and why's he doing this? i don't really understand

I'm giving him time until my birthday on Wednesday.
