We were friends with benefits and he begged me for a relationship, I was cool with fucking with no strings attached. When I found out I was pregnant I was going to get an abortion but he begged me to keep the baby and claimed to want to be a family. I also found out he was chasing his ex and not over her and lying and telling people I forced a relationship and baby on him and wouldn't let him go. I'm trying to figure out why a man would do this? If he wanted his ex I would've gladly got out the way and aborted the baby. 🤷

I finally came out and told him I had a miscarriage and he didn't believe me it seems until I told him I had papers from the hospital. Then he said "I bet you're happy you got what you wanted. I'm glad I only have one kid with you now, let's hope the unborn baby didn't have a heartbeat yet" We have a baby already together and the unborn baby would've been our second child. We had a tumultuous abusive relationship and even though we weren't together we'd still talk on the phone. Hed ask me if I was going to my prenatal visits and if I told my family I was pregnant again. Just recently he asked about the unborn baby and I said everything was ok because I didn't want to tell him but I was so sad and so much is going on in my life right now I cried and told him. I wonder if he really meant when he said he didn't care about me losing our unborn baby, he'd ask me about the unborn baby from time to time.

He treated me very badly even before he got me pregnant. During my pregnancy he made my life hell and now the baby is born and he still does. I tealized that he just doesn't want to be a better man or father and come to terms with that though it's hard. The last time we talked he "I don't call you so please stop calling me. I plan on having another baby with someone else anyway" and our child together is less than 4 months old so that hurt me. So now I'm moving on and. So devastated. Should I block him or ignore his phone calls the way he ignores my phone calls?

His ex and I had our babies three months apart. His ex was pregnant by another man while I was pregnant by him. Her and I talked and I found out he was begging to get back with her while she was pregnant by another man and I was pregnant by him. He also wanted the baby in the beginning and begged me not to get an abortion but now says I tried trapping him and he wishes he didn't get me pregnant. I can't help but to feel used and really low about myself. I have no confidence and wonder what I did to deserve this. If he didn't want me and wanted his ex I could've got the abortion and moved on and found a man who would appreciate me.

My aunt was raised with overprotective parents. They wouldn't even let her sleepover not even with a female friend. She would secretly date her HS sweetheart. Her uncle caught them making out once and made a big scene, dragging her all the way home, yelling about how that's not how young ladies behave, told her parents about it, etc. She got banned from seeing her boyfriend. Her parents were too focused on her waiting till marriage, never drinking nor smoking, that type of upbringing.

Result:
She didn't wait till marriage.
Her HS sweetheart wasn't her first and only boyfriend ever.
She was into parties for a bit as an adult, enjoying the freedom she never had.
She married her 4th boyfriend, a very liberal man.

Liberal/permissive style
She and her husband only had a daughter and she was raised in the liberal manner. She was allowed to go on camping trips and excursions (far from home) with friends, went out on a date at the age of 14 for the first time, didn't have a curfew and at the age of 16 got lectured about safe sex. My aunt didn't want to make the same mistake her family did to her.

Result:
She got pregnant at the age of 18 with her 3rd boyfriend.
Her ex boyfriend still pays child support and is in contact with the child often.
She's now 27, married with another guy and they have 2 kids.
My aunt and her husband thinks they exceeded on her liberalism.

Obviously neither extreme is good but which do you think is worse? Overprotective or very liberal parents?
