I have had a thing for this girl since I met her 5 years ago. She was very attractive single mom, but I was barely 18.
After we both stopped working there, we talked a lot more. She actually would talk to me about her sexual life at times.
I felt like there was mutual flirting happening, but since I was 18 and not too interested in being a father, or father figure I stopped persuing it.
We both wound up dating people over the next 3 years. She got married and I got engaged to the girl I dated.

But during 2017, my fiance broke things off. Additionally, the girl's marriage also ended. Because of how bad her divorce went, I tried to just be the friend she could talk to. She then started to tell me about guys she was hanging out with and she kept insisting they weren't dates.
I don't know why, but we haven't talked for a while and I'm not sure what's going on currently. Because I didn't agree with some things she posted on Instagram, I unfollowed her. But also got a new phone and lost her cellphone number.

She has still liked my photos since then

The point I'm getting to is her birthday is this weekend, I wanted to casually ask her if she was doing anything fun for her birthday, and if possible, ask her if I could take her out.

BUT, I'm worried about what she may say or do if I message her on Instagram and she sees I'm requesting to talk to her. She will then know I unfollowed her. I'm 22 now, but not sure about being a father figure to her son, but she keeps telling me I am one and has told me she wanted her son to be like me and not like his dad or her ex husband.
Do I message her? Or just forget about it?
