This guy and I have known each other from a professional setting for months and recently (1-2 months) started getting personal through textings and phone calls (not the 24/7 type but at least some contacts in a day.) We have yet gone on a date because we both have busy conflicting schedules.

3 weeks ago, I hang out with a guy who we both know. He heard it from a common friend (who has turned the hang out into a "date"), so he called to that same night to find out what was going on. I told him it was just a hang out, he was fine and told me how he's not the type of person who tells others that they can't do this or that, but he just got jealous because he has a crush on me. I found that to be cute at the time.

Then a week later he has sent me a text which I failed to respond until the next morning because I fell asleep. I explained to him about what happened and apologized, which I would have done the same to any friends. He thanked me for "clearing that up" and I didn't think too much into that.

One more week went by. One night he sent me three texts and I didn't reply until the next day. He told me to call him but before I could do that, he called. I was at work and couldn't just take the call. So I called him back a few minutes later without listening to the voice mail that he has left because I thought it'd just be asking me to call him back. He picked up and asked if I got his voice mail and I said no. Then he somehow demanded me to explain why I didn't reply until the next day when he texted me three times. When he knew that it's because I fell asleep, he was relaxed and said that's what he thought, just like what he said in his text last night. Then out of nowhere, he just asked me how many times I have been out with that other guy whom we both know. He questioned if I felt the guy's trying to get to me / have me as a regular date. I told him no and thought it's funny at first because I only saw that person as a friend. He went on and asked if the guy has asked me out again, I said yes, and he asked how I responded, and I could hear the some anger in his tone. I told him that I haven't confirmed and have told that guy it's up to him to find someone else to go with because I might not be available on that day. He then relaxed and told me how he knew I was a grown woman and could do anything I wanted, but then two minutes later questioned if I knew what I wanted to do and who I wanted. I said yes and he was satisfied. And he told me how he is being very patient with me because he really wants to know me and wants things for long-term. It is good on one hand, but to be honest, I was a bit frustrated because we didn't even go out once. Then I listened to his voice mail afterward and found that he was very frustrated saying how I should have my phone with me so I could pick up calls/reply texts. My first reaction was, "What the heck? Why are you yelling at me on this?"

Now I'm not sure. Is this still "normal" or is he just a control freak?

The female is very pretty-facewise. She kind of looks like Eva Mendez but she has control and jealous issues. Whether you're just a male friend or boyfriend, she'll be calling/texting you all day. Asking where you are and what you're doing, who you're with even though you're just a friend. If you don't respond to her texts or don't text her for a day, she'll freak out. Would you overlook her behavior just because she's gorgeous?
