Do you prefer a girl to be clingy or independent

I have just two question's to ask

1.I known this guy who says he prefers his woman to be clingy does this mean he wants a girl who is forever calling texting and emailing.

I can't live without you kind of girl or does this mean that this guy has issues, why would someone want this kind of relationship or is it that he has been hurt previously,or is this his way of knowing that she will not cheat on him or maybe he is simply a control freak who likes to keep him woman in line, what do you think are his issues if any or am a judgmental person because he prefers what other guys find a turn off

2.Do you guys find a woman who is too independent, who would rather tell you take a hike a turnoff. Would you date her only to try to change her or would you just go with the flow and hope she will change on her own, personally I am this kind of girl who hates to compromise I am a bit of a stubborn person who does not like to be told what to do, I tend to become rebellious,like that teen down the street who does not do what she is told only what she wants.

could this be the reason why guys don't want to stick around these kind women and can a person compromise without loosing themselves in the process

A guy who wants a clingy girl is a guy who needs constant validation.

Independent to me means that you are capable of standing on your own two feet and have integrity. It's possible to be independent and still remain humble, warm and caring.

Being a "rebellious teen" have little to do with being independent. For me that's just another word for drama queen or a "rebel without a cause" i.e someone lost who have to prove something but not really sure what or why.

Sure, we should all follow or dreams and passions and do what we want with our life. But not on the expense of others.

I don't compromise when it comes to what I consider the important things in life. And I don't expect others to do that for me either. If you have to compromise too much around other people then perhaps it's time to find people who match better.

I get what you mean rebellious teen having nothing to do with independence its not about proving anything to him or being a drama queen its but showing him that life does not revolve around him I cannot that girl who wants and need him.i get not compromising for other people but do you mean you do not make some compromises for your better half and if you do in what situations is this acceptable.anyways thak you for your imput much appreciated

If you still have to "prove" that life doesn't revolve around him then you are actually making the things you do because of him. If your life truly didn't revolve around him you would just do what you do and he wouldn't even be in the equation of those choices.

I do compromise when it comes to small things but not when it comes to things like if I want children or not, where I want to live etc. That's too important to compromise about for me. Better find a better match then.

we all have something to prove to someone don't we me showing him and not proving to him I don't need him happens if I can say in two ways at times it is done deliberately to say you are not the centre of my universe and in a subconcious you just do it without even knowing you are doing it as for finding someone better hope to

I think most people just want someone who is balanced. Everything in moderation and all that. Most guys I have known of say they want a women who can be independent and not totally at a loss without them, but they also like to feel needed and of assistance to their girls which stands to reason. So as I said balanced is the word.

Most guys want a girl who WANTS to be with him, and enjoys it when he's with her and the time they spend together, but also a girl who is okay without him for a little while, and can survive for a weekend if he's away, and doesn't feel the need to call him at work every hour.

Extremes are rarely ideal. Balance is what is important.
