The arguments are really bad and when we do fight he says its all my fault. Just to give a general idea of what he says I am messing up, he has said many times that he doesn't like my attitude. Specifically the way I act when I am upset. Often times during fights he'll tell me that he's tired of dealing with my attitude and if I mess up one more time he's leaving me. He doesn't want me to raise my voice or talk back. He's told me in the past not to assume things. In this last argument I was upset because we were spending time together, he wanted to play his xbox. I responded with "do you really have to play it" and the conversation went downhill from there. Ending with him telling me that it all could have been avoided if I'd said yes or no and not extra bs he didn't ask for. That is also another one of the problems, I have to get to the point of the conversation and most times I am expressing my feelings which is considered extra. I have gotten so bad that he told me he wished I was someone else because of how I act. My problem is that at this point I feel sometimes as though im being bullied during the conversations and I cry a lot. Could all of our problems truly be my fault? I hear so many times that it's all my fault and how I mess up and how I need to change because he will change if I fix myself, meaning that if I stop my behavior then there won't be any problems between us. I feel like I have tried but if I do anything wrong then those times I did things right are out of the window. Its happened so many times he's said he's tired of my lies and broken promises. Its been on my mind so I'd really like someone's advice. If I am the one causing everything then I understand. Its just hard to see the truth when you're inside the relationship so I'd welcome outside opinions. Or even if you believe one person could be to blame at all. If I am at fault, how can I take those steps to be different since my previous attempts weren't working?

So my boyfriend and I have been together for almost 3 years now. He tells me he loves me often and will tell me not to leave him, but the past year or so things have been seriously declining and he just doesn't really put much effort into the relationship anymore. He does have a lot of issues going on at home and is dealing with depression but it is seriously running into our relationship and he doesn't feel like doing anything to work on his problems. And if I ever tell him that something he does bothers me, he pretty much ignores what I say and doesn't do anything to change it, and I'm not bothered by insignificant things.. Then yesterday was my birthday and he didn't show up to my house until 4 o clock and he did nothing special to make me feel important. He sent me a pretty basic happy birthday text in the morning but didn't give me a card, flowers, a present, nothing at all. The weird thing is he asked me about a week ago when we were doing presents and I said on the day of my birthday but then it came and he did nothing. I'm just tired of feeling insignificant to him and like I don't matter, especially when I put so much effort into doing nice things for him and trying to make him happy. Should I just cut my losses and break up with him?
