Assuming they have proper training, maybe they have been with the company two years or 20 years.

At some point they realized and decided that it would be okay to really do the bare minimum or even less. While at the same time you may have someone who takes pride in the work they do and contributing to the team. But they can be just as useless because they are afraid to make a mistake when learning something new.

Then, if you’re lucky you have at least one team member who takes ownership of their role and is self assured. They stumble but keep on driving towards the path.

I have one person that was hired by a previous manager who she made fast friends with. As a result, her performance was never called into question despite many mistakes.

I don’t actually mind mistakes so long as it isn’t always the same mistake. We aren’t robots and the mistake will be caught early and can be corrected and written off.

The problem is that I’m paying two employees to do a job the job of half a person. Processing jobs that you should be quick at, paid as a higher level tech.

They sometimes simply forward me an email with no request for guidance. Things I shouldn’t have to be involved in at all.

If you know someone is capable of doing more but doesn’t care to, should you cut them?

no one want to hear you should be doing at least 2 times more production a day. It’s easy for them to think I do t get paid for that, but in fact they do.

I told one to actually review the file and present a resolution to me to consider together.

I don’t like it when people play dumb to busy another. Show your work before asking a question.

Im HELPING you do your job not the other way around.

When forwarding an an email a simple “what would you do” would work better then trying to hand it off to me.

Not my job and they need t learn to think or find a diff career.

I do help people who need a mentor, they are engaged and not simply leaning off their job.
