What I mean is, like a guy paying on a date(the first few), opening the door for a women(normal doors and car doors), not trying to sleep with her, pulling out her chair for her, and just generally respecting her. And her respecting him.

And the girls and guys not sleeping with each other till marriage, or fooling around(besides making out).

Why do people act like these things are so horrible and out dated nowadays? Where I live even though they are becoming much less common a lot of guys(at least the ones in church) are still raised to do these things(as are girls) and it just bothers me that common courtesy and values are just not around as much these days.

So seriously, what's so wrong with these things?

I was surprised that guys said they're EXPECTED to pay...the girl doesn't even offer.

I've noticed on this site over the years that a lot of guys have been jaded (understandably) by girls who ended up only being interested in their money. Not only is this shocking to me (call me naive, I guess), but it's also really frustrating; it screws over us genuine girls who could care less about money.

I was raised in a family with no brothers, a mom who was the sole breadwinner (my dad couldn't work), and the consistent encouragement of my sisters and I to become accomplished, independent women. Blame it on my upbringing, but I really have a hard time imagining that gold-diggers my age exist.

So my question is, how many of you guys feel as though you were used for your money? Whether on a first date, throughout a relationship, or otherwise. Feel free to include personal stories : ) Thanks!
