I'm an atheist myself so just want your opinion on it

If God was portrayed as it is in Deism, a creator who made everything but left us all to be as we were and didn't interested with the world or our lives, and that religion was man-made and had nothing to do with him, there was such a thing as heaven if you were good(enough to normal standards) you would go there and bad people would be reincarnated again to another life to try again

This might actually be true as there's no way to disprove it

But would you want that sort of a world?

Evolution has been proven, it's pretty evident that the Christian God and the Bible are far from the truth. Why do people still believe in this ridiculous religion. I ask Christians that I know all of the time and none of them can seem to give me any proof. The Bible is a book, that is all, it hasn't proved anything. The Bible is comparable to Homer's Iliad. It's epic, it's a good story, it's intriguing, it might have been based on a few true events, but Greek Gods never have and never will exist. The more we find out about physics, biology, chemistry, etc. the more further we get away from the original naive attempt at explaining how we came into existence. The fact that arsenic life forms can exist makes us understand that carbon based life (life as we know it) isn't the only kind of life in the Universe, which would make any person with any reason at all open his mind to the fact that we are an evolutionary fluke. If life exists off of this planet, (which is extremely probable now that we have found earth like planets) than what does God have to say about that? Animals are not beneath us, the only thing that makes us more superior than them is the fact that we are higher up on the food chain than most and have more intelligence. God didn't create us in his own image, that's our own ignorant arrogance that some of us still believe. It's time to change people. Christians are holding on to beliefs that have been thrown out in the science community long ago. One of my biggest annoyances is when people say God created Evolution... You can't just work new scientific discoveries into your own preconceived idea of how we came into creation? & just because some things may not have all the answers doesn't mean God can fill the void. The more we look into things, the more answers we find, and believe me, nothing has anything to do with a divine creator of any sort. The only reason why the majority of western culture choose Christianity as their default religion is because we were founded by Countries who had Christian backgrounds. If we were founded by another culture with a different belief system we would have a completely different default religion. You are the majority in western culture which makes you assume you are right, and there is no reason to question your beliefs because everyone you go to church with believes in the same God you do. & as Socratese would have said, the majority is NOT always correct. The only way to determine what is logical and what isn't logical is to well, use logic, and Christians don't.

Please People can you just step back for 1 second and realize what you believe in? Just because it's consoling doesn't make it true.
