Are more expensive jeans really better?

Question

all my jeans come from American eagle and hollister. they cost between $40 and $60 normally. I have them in different washes and colors, some with rips and some without.

i have a few friends who will only wear jeans like true religion and seven jeans and spend $250 a pair. they swear these jeans are better quality, look better, feel better, and last longer.

last week I borrowed a pair of true religions from my friend who is the same size and I didn't care for them. I think my jeans look and feel better. also I've had some of my pairs for five years and they're holding up just fine.

There are no jeans special enough to spend $250 on that aren't a rip off. you could get a perfectly fine pair of jeans for $30 and less that does all the magical things the other jeans do above.  You could destroy or rip or stain a cheap pair of jeans and not feel guilty about having wasted a pretty penny on them. They can make your ass look just as nice as expensive jeans, and you can work and play in them. Expensive jeans are for people with nothing better to spend money on. All denim is the same, so I don't see how anyone can charge that much. The only your spending the extra money on is brand name.

I think it just depends on the style and type of denim they used for that particular jean. Some more thick jeans will stand up better, and ones that are sewn with thicker threads will last better naturally. Just look for good stitching and material. Some really thin jeans won't last long. I have had some from Wal-mart that have lasted a while. But it's good you tested some out, that is a good idea. A lot of people just generally assume more money=better quality overall.

The more expensive jeans have better quality. I have True Religion and Seven jeans from high school that I still wear, and it seems like I just bought them. They're in great condition as opposed to jeans that are like $20 and will start to wear and tear a lot quicker. Jeans from AE and Hollister are still of great quality and I've had jeans from both and I liked them a lot.

Uhh, the jeans I wear only cost about $80 a pair, which is super expensive for men's jeans.  The reason they're so expensive is because they're reinforced with kevlar for motorcycle riding.  Otherwise I wouldn't spend more than $20 on a pair of jeans.

I spend like $20 on jeans. Spending $250 is absurd. I can't count how many times I will be talking to someone and they mention there super expensive jeans while they are driving a car they probably spent less on.

people who haven't gotten expensive jeans before don't even know, expensive jeans last wayyyyy longer. but if you're one of those wear it a few times and then donate it people, cheap jeans are fine. They feel and look the same, but expensive ones tend to last longer for me.

Ew I hateee American eagle and hollister jeans, they never give me a butt :[ Honestly with the higher name brand jeans, your paying for the name, and just a little bit for the quality. So basically your wasting your money. They have just a little better quality. But not much. I buy bullhead jeans (I get them at pacsun), Vigoss, and Jolt. All for under 30$ and they've lasted for a while and look way better on me than the high priced jeans. Just my opinion :]

You should buy clothes that look good. So if it costs 10 bucks or a 100 dollars, who cares as long as they look good!  Mix it up.  I mostly buy unique labels or unheard of labels so that I can stand out.  They can be just as expensive or cheap as the popular brands.

Anyone who spends over I'd say 100 max is a an idiot. Even over the 60 you spend is really dumb. I will say that AE jeans look a lot better than cheaper jeans on a girl. AE jeans+a girls ass=awesome to look at. haha

Expensive jeans are usually better the cut, the wash and the fabric is really Another thing, once you try it you will see, I think Seven is the best one and trust me it isn't expensive If you were it all the time its like the price of a party dress however the dress you will use much less...

Its not a waste of money, its couture jeans that means the whole design process is different...

Most of my jeans cost me around (what would in your country be) $15-$20. And I buy from vintage shops. Ie., they're from 20 to 50 years of age, and still high quality. Hehehe.

I prefer better quality jeans but you can still get good quality for less than a £100. Levi's , pepe jeans, topshop jeans and abercrombie theyre all good quality and comfortable. So personally I don't think that there is a major difference.

It is stupid to pay more for something you are not even comfortable in. Plus I like longevity because I do not have my own career yet and can not afford to buy very expensive jeans. No I do not think they are better

Sometimes but mostly it's a brand thing. People want designer clothes even though they're very similar to regular brands. I like Uniqlo, nice jeans, cute and all under $30 (I think).

True religion jeans are only expensive because of the name. They of course are good quality but not so much better than gap. I can get a pair of gap jeans for 20 bucks or less.

my most expensive jeans are REALLY comfy .. they honestly feel like pajamas. Although the cheaper jeans that are about $30 are OK too.. not as comfy, but equally as durable.

My holister and AE ( All I wear  ha ha and some red rivet but only 2 pairs of those they make my butt look bigger , I was cursed with having a small butt :( But I guess that's good.
