Is it normal for girlfriends to trash talk their boyfriend to their friends?

Like I used to dread them hanging out because I knew somewhere down the line I was gonna find out they were talking bad about me the whole time they were hanging out. i treated this girl good and was respectful towards her friends

One of my friends does this a lot, she will drag his name in the mud and complain over everything he's done. I was in a 1.5 year relationship and spoke badly about him a total of 3 times. So yeah, it definitely depends on the woman

So if a disagreement happened she would usually only mention one side of the story and this constantly built till I was honestly uncomfortable being around her friend. Like I can pretend to be nice to someone I know is running me down

Afterall, technically I was a male "nurse" (cough cough) worked once, technically, or my job involved being around female nurses some of the time as my higher ups - I remember reading a book in school fictionally about nurses loving gossip and gossips
