Do gender quotas for women exist because they can't compete against men in a gender neutral hiring?

Not really. Women and men tend to gravitate toward different jobs and careers for different reasons. So employers attempt to attract more women to traditionally male dominated fields. With the advent of technology, there simply aren’t many jobs remaining that rely so heavily on physical size and strength that women can’t do them. The main barrier for the last several decades has been workplace injuries and deaths. Women rarely choose work with high rates. Men choose them because of increased pay and we’re taught from birth that we’re expendable. That mindset hasn’t changed much. Younger modern men aren’t choosing dangerous work, including the military, because they don’t think of themselves as expendable. Older men and most women are widely characterizing men who choose to not sacrifice themselves for a society that doesn’t appreciate them as effeminate, and “not real men”. Let women kill themselves to make the world go around for a few generations. Or, let the world stop going around until men are truly appreciated again. I’m fine with both.

I’m at the tail end of men being rewarded socially for being self destructive. So, i’ve had some return on my investment. Older generations were actually esteemed for their sacrifices. Younger men get shit on no matter what they do. I’ve seen it all.

People have internal bias and make bad choices over centuries. Have you had a boss that you liked? They exist but are far and few between because of bias of higher management.

So we either figure it out ourself first or get a disembodied heavy handed requirements to force us to figure it out as soon as possible.

Women want equality only if it benefits them. Ever heard women asking for quota in Oil rig or bricklaying? Why not reserve 40% for women there?

It just proves that you are weak and can't be equal to men so you need some quotas and special help

No, they can’t compete because they don’t have the skills with the exception of 1 or 2 so to appease feminists they let any woman in no matter how skilled they are which is seriously dangerous for everyone involved.

The Labour Party also has all female shortlists in safe seats to increase female MPs which breaches the free will of the voters who might not want a woman representing them. they force out the male MPs to achieve this.

The truth is men generally are smarter and harder working than women because we have a burden of performance and they do not.

Probably because some occupations are so overwhelmingly male (STEM, the trades to name just two) for historically misogynistic reasons that some firms believe women require at least something of a leg (hopefully, with big boobs!!!) up to show younger women they too can enter such an industry.(I'll give my personal views on such programs later.)
