Every beautiful/handsome person who is married or in a committed relationship was not born into marriage or a committed relationship. They were once SINGLE. Ugliness - whether it's true or not - is simply the excuse that you use to stay away from something that actually scares you.

Go to a popular, busy mall and sit your ass on a bench in a main corridor and look at all the couples who walk past. Do they ALL look like models and movies stars? Hell no! Some of them are ugly AF, but they have someone because they weren't afraid to take a chance on finding romance.

The majority of people go in a cycle from school age, of dating being single, dating, single, relationship, single, relationship ….

some if not the majority get married or have a long term possibly life long relationship with their partner.

Single st the moment, play sports, go running, archery, hang with friends, music, reading, gaming, actually it’s the same stuff I do when in a relationship, just a bit more free time.

It isn't always about being ugly. Some people think I'm cute or "pretty" but most guys don't like my personality because I am dark in the way I talk about life and death lol. Anyways what I usually do in my spare time is browse the interwebs, translate manga, watch movies/shows/anime, read manga, play video games, go out window shopping, go out to eat, do work around the house, hangout with someone, and on some occasions workout.

I want to go out and touch grass way more often but I feel quite discouraged thinking about seeing how hot dogs and fries costing me like $15 once I'm out and touching grass

Whatever I like. The great thing about being ugly is once you come to terms with it. You stop wasting energy on the opposite gender. Life becomes very simple when you close that door of your life.

It's OK to feel that way. So long as you know that doesn't reduce your value one iota. People are commodities in this world. Very few people ever actually love anyone. When you REALIZE this you realize how fleeting beauty is. Beauty gives you the ability to con people, but doesn't actually add any value to you. And when you get to be my age you'll see how most beautiful people end up as thier beauty starts to fade. The world sees them for who they truly are.

You're speaking of breaking out of that bubble. Both in the "you are loved" bubble and the "looks matter" bubble. I mean sure, looks do matter but it isn't the end of the world if we aren't beautiful.

@Amy10223 nope. My parents were my age when they got married. They were 20 when they had me. They are still happily married to this day.

@Amy10223 You're never too young to think about marriage if you're old enough to think about sex or relationships. Some people want to settle down early, and that's totally fine, casual relationships just aren't some people's thing. Up until recently, that's been the norm. I've been in the same boat for a long time, I've always looked at dating as a way to find someone I'd want to spend the rest of my life with, not just as a way to have fun.

@Serkee I would think that at 19 most young adults that age aren’t thinking about marriage yet. In fact most marry now at later ages, like near 30, especially for men. I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with it, it’s just rare. I myself feel you should date as much as possible before finding someone who is right for you. Mentioning marriage right away might be the reason why Awresomesauce is not finding anyone. He might be scaring them away.

@Amy10223 That's true, mentioning marriage would likely scare some people away, but I don't think it's all that weird or bad for that to be his goal in dating. Personally, I don't think it's right to date as much as possible before marriage, I think quite the opposite really. Having a ton of experience just makes marriage mean less. I see high body counts as a high number of failed relationships. If she's been with 50 other guys, I wouldn't want to just be #51, so I wouldn't bother pursuing a relationship with her, since chances are I'd just end up getting my heart broken.

@Serkee Dating 50 people would be too much. I’m talking dating several before marriage. I disagree with you on that. Dating more people lets you find out who you are looking for. It’s better than marrying the first person who comes along and making a big mistake. Not that it can’t happen— finding the perfect one for anyone on a first date is rare.

@Amy10223 Yeah I get that it's unrealistic, but I'm just talking about my ideal situation. I'd feel guilty dating around just to find out what I'm looking for, I'd feel like I was leading people on and disrespecting their time. Marriage will always be my end goal in dating someone, if she's not the right one then that's unfortunate, but if I don't see a relationship going further then I can't keep wasting both of our time.

@Amy10223 dating shouldn't just be about having fun. It is about finding someone to procreate with and get old with. I am one of the rare few agnostic people that think this way. I am also one of the rare few that doesn't abuse substances such as alcohol, smoking, vaping, etc

@Serkee If you'd feel guilty to try and find the right one--that's a problem. You shouldn't feel guilty. You're doing it for your own good to find the partner right for you. That's why of someone mentioned right away on there first date-- it's sometimes a turnoff, especially with younger people, like a 19 yr old.

Well, you;'ll find that many people will find that idea old-fashioned and not appealing (finding a mate to pro-create). Dating should be fun while you're looking for a marriage partner.

@Amy10223 It's not that I would feel guilty for trying to find the right one, that's what I want to do. I'd feel guilty for dating someone just to learn what I want. I'd know how I'd feel if someone was only dating me to test the waters, I'd feel used. So I don't want to do that to someone else. Of course I wouldn't mention marriage on the first date, but I would make it clear that I'm looking for something serious, not a casual relationship. I don't want any misunderstandings, and I don't want either of us to waste our time.

@Serkee well said, that is something we can agree on. by the way, Amy I'm not bringing up marriage as a goal for me until after the first date. It's not an ultimatum it's just to let her know how far I want to take the relationship. Communication and honesty are key to a good successful relationship.

@At3mis24 I love kids. They're easy to make laugh, it's fun to teach them things, to see them be in awe of things you see as mundane, and a lot more. Having fun with kids to me is like experiencing childhood again myself. Seeing kids laugh makes me forget my depression for a while.

I agree that communication and honesty are key to a good relationship. So, it will be good for you to bring that up--but even after the 2nd date--to bring up marriage is a bad idea... to say you are looking for something serious is a bit better. Still, at your age, you should be meeting all kinds of people--because sometimes, we don't know what we want. Sometimes we don't know ourselves well enough to see where we would be most happy.
