Do i have a chance to become a boss at my retail job?
Not the top boss but one level above what i am now which is a normal worker.

Many of the bosses and top bosses know me as someone always picking up as much hours as i can, as a woman who is eager to work and willing to do just about any task required.

Was hired by this guy who put me on contract term as his wife (HR) is an idiot & comes from a field where the typical staff has no gumption to better themselves so thinks stagnant staff are great.

In my / boss's field there's two types of stagnant staff. Ones that are stagnant because they like their employer/the team/the work & ones that are stagnant because they're damn lucky they have a job and if they move there's a chance they won't last long anywhere else. These staff are at the bottom of the "totem pole" for skill after all.

Anyway he predominantly has the second type. The idiots that are lucky to have jobs.

I am fully trained in my field & took advantage of it to move around when I started to get as much experience as I can including in equipment that's not widely known, etc. His wife thought this meant I was fired from jobs not by choice - like said she's not bright - hence the contract.

But despite the fact that I showed from the start I was more adept than his staff he didn't remove limitations (like I couldn't even order necessary supplies as example) and that was simply annoying - because I could've changed quite a bit to make things far smoother - which just amplified my frustration working with his idiot staff.

Whereas they who don't even know the bare minimum of the job could do as they like

I'm already looking for other work. The "boss" said that there was no yakking around the water cooler but today that's what he & another colleague was mostly doing as I was trying to do the work of myself & one other. And then they've the nerve to bitch over minor errors when I started just 3 weeks ago.
