So I've been with my boyfriend for over 2 years
He had a bad childhood (his dad was abusive - beating him and his mum) and then he kicked my boyfriend out when he was 18
So ever since he was 18, he has been living by himself.
And he doesn't have much friends either
He's had 2 previous girlfriends but they were never THAT serious (only lasted 6 months max)

I'm his longest relationship

So anyway, lately he has been upset and I asked whats wrong:
HIM - I've been alone for 10 years now, I have a girlfriend which is you, but I still feel alone, I really wish we could live together so I can wake up to someone, can't we just live together?
ME - I mean I need time, I still want to live with my parents and save abit more
HIM - Whats your goals? How long are you planning to stay with your parents?
ME - I don't know..
HIM - I really need a REAL partner, I will become a certified police officer within 2 years, and after that, I know I'll be stable to get married and have kids, would you be ready after 2 years?
ME - I don't know.. I can't really put a timeline, don't pressure me
HIM - Im not pressuring you, Im just telling you how I feel and my future goals, because if you're not ready to fully commit after 2 years from now, then I need to find someone else?
ME - so you want to be with someone else? You're thinking of it?
HIM - No.. Im a patient guy, but I'll be 30 in 2 years time, Im getting old, I want to get married, I want to have a family, that's all Im saying...

I don't really know what to do..
I love him but I feel pressured :\

I’ve been friends with max and we’ve fallen in love and are starting to date but I’m noticing things I did not see when friends.

he only plans things and let’s me know about it last minute. He never agrees to plans I make always has an excuse to not do something if/ when I come up with it but will spend that same time with me once it’s his idea. He will call me but does not want me calling. He only talks about things he raises if I raise a problem I’m “thinking too much”.

my friends were saying he’s just being chivalrous and trying to lead. Maybe he thinking this is his job but why should I care what pretty name you give it. I do not like the dynamic. It’s dusrrsuectful demeaning and completely arbitrary.

I don’t see this working. I can’t even imagine talking to him about it without him acting like I’m pressuring him just by talking.

I can’t believe my friends see no issue. I now have not only learned more about him but then too. This has really opened my eyes to how pathetic their relationship expectations are.

Anyhow , I don’t want to just jump ship on the other hand I don’t feel like dealing with Him getting mad and acting like I’m needy bc I have my own opinions... it’s infuriating.

the weird thing is I’ve always been a very solid person personality wise. We were friends so he knew this. If he wanted a stepford-wife- girlfriend, why come to me?
