I feel that improving is taking certain attributes and qualities you may already have and just sharpening them up and bringing those things out in a positive and productive way.

i feel that change is much more for things that need dire attention. if a guy harbors negative feelings towards women as a whole then I feel he must find a way to change those feelings into positive ones. if a person has anxiety towards something or a fear, then they will need to try to change those feelings into something that will make that fear or anxiety go away.

for myself I'm always interesting in finding ways to improve my life for the better, and bring my best qualities out into the forefront in various aspects of life. I do feel that I have some anxieties towards certain things and I would like to change though.

what about you? do you feel that change and improve are different? or are they the same? why? what things you are changing and improving about yourself?

As you know, MMA gets stereotyped as being a sport that douchebags guys participate in to get a fit body and to gain a "badass factor" to get more girls.

I read some blog online a few days ago about some martial artists finding the conduct and persona of some MMA fighters to be "detestable", in terms of high level of flashy bravado, compared to low levels of humility / humbleness, inside and outside the ring.

As you may know, "classic" martial arts put as much of a premium on how you conduct and carry yourself, as much as on the physical aspects of the fighting form itself.

Some of those include:

*self-control (temperament as well as "ill temptations")

*humility / humbleness (not showing off your fighting abilities outside of training or a match, being humble about NOT showing off your physique in a bravado fashion, etc.)

*having high self-conduct (aka, "being an example of a good, high morale, humble, law-abiding citizen")

In short, do you think that the majority of MMA are lacking those three traits in comparison to those of classic-style martial arts?
