This happened to me a week ago. It was like, 2 something in the morning, and I heard a thump outside my door. Wondering what happened, I went out into the hallway to see what was going on. I found my brother on the ground, and at first I thought he was playing a joke because he liked to play jokes on me. So, I lightly kicked him, but he didn't respond to me. I looked over into the bathroom to see a bottle of Mount Gay rum almost fully done, and a book that had dark sayings he wrote. I asked him what it was and he didn't answer. I then got down and saw the cuts on his arms and then my mom yelled, asking what was going on, and in that moment, I didn't care what my brother wanted, I wanted him safe, so I ran down the stairs as fast as I could and told my mom what happened.

So, of course I had a long night after finding him like that. And I couldn't sleep that night. Of course, the next day I was tired because I was really worried about my brother, and when I told my mom that I had a long night, she fired back at me and said: "The only reason you had a long night is because you were online with your friend." Yes, I was online with my friend cause we FaceTime a lot. But it seemed like she wasn't even glad that I found him or acknowledged that this hurt me too, which made me mad.

Let's say you meet a homeless 19 year old black boy who's 5'2. He tells you that his family doesn't want him anymore because he's a disgrace to the family. He tells you how he has to sell his plasma for food, how he sleeps in homeless shelters how sometimes restaurants won't allow him to use the bathroom and how he's lonely everyday. He eventually starts to cry and says what am I going to do? I don't know where I'm going to go now, he hides his face and starts to sob.
