Hmmm about fav album here…maybe somewhere between Ammonia Avenue or Vulture Culture I guess!

Magnum was a glam rock/prog-rock band.. eh most of their albums in their 80s were “meh”…. not my style. But I’d pick “Vigilante”…. a little better than da rest.

John Parr was mostly famous for his AOR mega-hit “St. Elmo’s Fire”…. apart from this his solo debut’s an AOR classic album :)

Sure 1 of my top 10 bands ever. Squeeze have been involved wid many music styles…they started as punk-rock in their early recordings, then they become new-wave, then more synth-poppish and by da end of 80s they turned alt. rock mostly.

They’ve got a streak of awesome albums, but I’ll go wid Argybargy. Their masterpiece by far

The Motors were another late 70s-early 80s new-wave band, mostly known for their song “Airport”. They released 1 album in da early 80s, which was very good.

Robert Palmer had changed many music styles durin his career, and he’s most popular for his song “Addicted To Love”. My fav albums by him would b both “Riptide”, and of course da more new-wavish “Clues”

Power Station were a Duran Duran’s side project including Robert Palmer as lead singer. They had 2 hits back then wid “Some Like It Hot” and “Get It On”…their self-titled album was gr8 as well.

Arcadia were another Duran Duran’s side project, and their album “So Red The Rose” was even better than many of their albums they released as Duran Duran in my opinion

Jona Lewie is a multi-instrumentalist mostly known for his single “Stop The Cavalry” which is a classic new-wave song in many related new-wave stations. His album “Heart Skips Beat” sounds kinda “weird” truth’s…but not in a bad way. 80s new wave wid some “50s-60s touch” somehow.

Buggles were another new-wave band mostly known for their song “Video Killed The Radio Star”, and of course both their albums were awesome!

Korgis were another similar soundin band, but less successful than Buggles, and mostly known for their song “Everybody’s Got To Learn Sometime”... which’s a pop-ballad, unlike band’s new-wave style. Singer James Warren also released a solo-album during da 80s. Fav album would b “Dumb Waiters” and also their 1979 debut, which isn’t mentioned though.

Wah! Were a post-punk/new-wave band active in early 80s and they were most famous for their multiple names…all those names were: Wah!, Wah! Heat, Shambeko! Say Wah!, JF Wah!, The Mighty Wah! and Wah! The Mongrel

Their biggest hits were “The Story Of The Blues” and “Come Back”, but all their albums, including Pete Wylie’s solo album were gr8. I’d go wid “Nah=Poo The Art Of Bluff” though coz its name’s funny LOL

The Bible were an indie-pop band active in late 80s mostly. Their lead snger Boo Hewerdine released a solo album wid Darden Smith in 1989 as well…. eh, tbh didn’t like em much, not my style.

After Barry Andrews left XTC, he formed Shriekback. Sure one of da most unique bands ever. U cannot fit them in a particular genre…they have changed numerous styles in their recordings…so callin em “avant-garde” would b more accurate in my opinion.

My personal fav, would b “Jam Science”. This album would b categorized as “synth-funk” mostly.

John Watts, mostly known as da frontman of Fischer-Z, is one of da most underrated artists indeed. He had some really good albums both as part of Fischer-Z or solo…. also his side-project, called The Cry was really good. His style would b described mostly as New-wave/Post-Punk wid reggae influences…later when Fischer-Z reformed in late-80s they followed a more alternative-rock direction.

My fav album by them would b “Going Deaf For A Living”, or his “Quick Quick Slow” album wid The Cry.

Her first 4 albums especially, were fuckin awesome…. l8r she changed her style…still she was good but not as gr8 as she was during her early days!

If I had 2 pick one album I’d choose her 2nd album, Secret. It was darker than her debut and it had this underground feelin : )
