And if you do, what was it like? How bad did it affect you?

I ask because exactly twelve years ago today, on December 29th, 2003, I was rejected for the first time in my life. I was 13 years old, in the seventh grade, and it was really nervous lol.

Anyway, this was back before Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, etc existed. MySpace has just emerged and many people at this age didn't have an account. Texting was scarce-Especially as a young teen. So, I did it the old fashioned way-Through the telephone!

My best friend at the time told me there was this girl at a local Catholic elementary. He told me she was an EIGHTH GRADER! This was such an upgrade! So, he gave me her number and I decided to wait for Christmas Break (from school). I grabbed my parents' house telephone and gave her a call. She answered and I said "Hello, my name is Blake and I'm asking you out for a date." She hung up without saying anything else.

I laugh at myself. How can I be so naive to think randomly calling and asking a girl I've never talked to in my life would work?

At the time, I was very mad. I remember being so angry at my friend.

This amazing girl I've gotten to known for over a year said No to me when I confessed my feelings to her. She said I was the dream guy and all that stuff and she said No because she still can't forget about the last guy she liked. I was sad but we were algood I already told her whatever her answer was I could deal with it so I wasn't angry or anything, just sad because I like her sooo much.

But anyways hours later we are still talking, she asked me questions "How long have I liked her etc etc" and she let me ask her anything.

So what I asked her was "When you get over this guy, will we ever have a chance together?"
She told me she was going to tell me this but it was selfish, but her answer to my question was YES.

Then I asked her "Can I ask her again in the future?"
And she said YES!

And she told me she doesn't know how long it will take, but if I ever find another girl that she wouldn't be mad.

I love her. I want a future with her. I would wait for her.
But is this foolish? Would you guys have done the same thing? Because even tho it was a rejection I still feel happy because technically it's not a No, because she does like me and eventually we could end up together. She said If only I asked her sooner xD but seriously no matter how much I like her I wouldn't tell her until I got to know her.
