5 Reasons Corny People Annoy Me


They physical oppose Swag


Yes, I know swag is a word that makes everyone think of douchebags and most people who consciously identify with swag as a personality trait tend to be douchebags, but, for me, swag is wearing a nice tailored suit, it's feeling super comfortable in your own skin, it's feeling like the man or the woman whereever you go. It's being in love with yourself to the point where drinking a glass of water the way you do seems like some unique speical amazing thing. It's making yourself a king in your mind and the minds of others. It's getting people fawning over you simply because you acted as though you deserved to be fawned over and not neccessarily accomplishing anything.


Corny people, however, completely contradict things. They bond and connect to all others by their weaknesses--not their strengths. They're self deprecating often and will say things like "i forgot all of that!" "I look so horrible today!" in a cute, smiling way that makes you feel better about yourself. This works--I get it and occasionally it is genuine. I mean what would you rather feel after meeting me that I'm awesome or that you're awesome? It's lonely at the top and these corny people are social communists with superior numbers if not superior confidence. Yet, again, this is usually an act. They have learned consiously or unconsciously that acting like you're not so into yourself makes people like you. I say damn that! A man loving himself and his accomplishments and belief in his ability to achieve future accomplishments is what this world needs! Same applies for women. I don't want some girl who always playfully puts herself down and compliments me, i want a girl who thinks she's a boss ****** who's handling **** It doesn't mean she thinks she's better. She's not comparing herself. She's on her own swag. A corny person is too focused on the feelings of others and figuring out ways to improve them for some ridiculous logic that tells her there's a point to that. They mock the very fiber that is swag by going the complete opposite direction.

They seemingly have no awareness of being corny


Everything they say sounds so inauthentic and cheesy. It's like a Disney movie has overtaken an entire person and blinded them to the off button. They have become so engulfed in their own cornyness that they can't help themselves. They aren't even aware of the word corny because it refers to everything at this point. They laugh in an annoying way. They speak in an annoying way. They make annoyingly over done faces in reaction to various situation. They post articles about ways to be "be you ti ful." Will no one stop this madness? Will no one call someone out for being so ridiculously cheesy. The only time someone should say be you ti ful is if they're making fun of someon. The idea of someone actually using this as positive affirmation throughout the day is sickening.

Telling someone to be less corny does not elicit the same reaction from the group as it did in the 90s.


And yet if you try to stop the corniness from spreading like a cancer through friend group, you're a bully. Bullies still dominate, get laid, get what they want but the majority of people will hate you for what you are. How dare you make someone else feel bad? It doesn't matter that they have the emotional stamina of a toddler, no, you are the horrible one for raising a valuable point that they are not at all cool and are annoyingly optomistic and cheesy with everything they say and do. I remember in the 90s no one wanted to be corny. Seems like everyone nowadays goes out of there to be just that. Where My Country Gone?

It's too great a cover to hide shadiness


You can't call out a person's shadiness when they refuse to drop the act of being a corny person. All you can do is hope others see this corniness and are similarly outraged by it. Yet, most people won't care enough to question it's authenticity. It's not a bad thing to have a corny person around they think. I'm not mad at it they think. When you let a goofy, corny person get away with that insincere, cheesy crap it brings down the social integrity of the entire group, yet how does one stop corniness when it cannot be revealed or addressed?

They're a cartoon, not a person


A human being is complex. They experience almost every emotion everyday to some extent or another. The cartoons tend to experience one emotion to a comically large degree for a long period of time to the exclusion of others. Thus the corny person lack basic complexity. They mask it in this cheesy presentation of themselves to the world. There's nothing there but affirmation that, at least, you're cooler than they are. There's no threat. There's no fear of rejection. This person has already given up. They've accepted that they're not cool nor ever will be and the lack of that struggle you find comforting. I say no to this. I want a real person with real struggles and real joy not put on joy to make me feel upbeat. I want men and women to live for themselves and not give up their gift of individuality and humanity to be cartoons so that other's will like them. That's the greatest sin of a corny person...they want others to like them such that they've completely given up their rights to being authentic.
