Some people never seem to get a clue as to why people don't like them. They tend to believe that it's everyone else who has the problem, and not them, which only adds to the problem. There are quite a few very tell tale signs that a person will become unlikable if they continue on with the way they are acting and treating those around them.
1. You're a gossip
We all share things with friends and co-workers that are confidential and are not meant to leave the bounds of your conversation. A person that tells everyone everything, gossips about you and everyone else, and let's someone know exactly what was said in confidence all the time will lead people not to want to share anything with you anymore because you can't be trusted and they'll probably avoid you in general because of it.
2. You have no respect for other people's time
You are constantly late. No matter how much warning is given, you arrive, now purposefully late and make no apologies for it. You think everyone should wait for you to arrive like you're some kind of king or queen. Even worse, you get mad at the same people if they are even seconds late to anything you want to do or that's important to you.
3. You never participate
Everyone's going out for drinks, or going to the charity function together, or celebrating someone's birthday and you never participate. You never accept invites and never seem to have a reason for your continual absence. No one should expect 100% participation from anyone, but to never come...?
4. You're a creeper
You literally creep people out. You're always leering at someone, you're in everyone's personal space, or giving inappropriate hugs, or making gross or humorless jokes, often at the expense of someone there.
5. You're unclean
You have no basic or bad hygiene, you have a noticeable odor, you take no care in your appearance.
6. You're a bully
Some people never grow out of this phase of their lives and translate it into their adulthood trying to push people around and use anger and fear to get people to do things for them their way. Most people instantly dislike this type of person because they don't seem to have even the basic ability to ask nicely or use their manners in anyway.
7. You're bitter
Everything in the world is someone's fault but you're own. You never take responsibility for your own actions. You're holding on to a lot of hurt and anger and you just take it out on innocent bystanders all the time.
8. You're hateful
Literally, you specifically make references to your hatred of certain people or groups. You're offensive and any number of the phobias or isms describes you. You make a lot of people very uncomfortable to the point where it's probably in their best interest not to be around you.
9. You're arrogant
You think you are literally better than everyone. You make sweeping generalizations about people whom you view as being beneath you in everyway. You think this entitles you to be on a pedal stool above all else.
10. You talk too much or too little
Every time you approach, people turn the other way because you talk way too much and sap the air out of the room. It's not a two way conversation, it's just you talking endlessly. Conversely, you never say much. You fail to respond to even the most basic of questions with anything more than a few clipped answers. It makes it very hard for people to want to socialize with you because they don't like having to do all the draining work to get even a tiny response from you. Some would even consider this person stuck up because to them it may seem like you literally can't be bothered to speak to them.
11. You're rude
You're the type to tell someone that their beloved dog dying is completely unimportant or to walk into a conversation where a group of friends are congratulating another on becoming a father, and ask, really what's the big deal? It's an easy way to get people not to like you or want you around because you seem to have no filter or consideration for others feelings.
12. You have split personalities
One day you're nice, the next you're a total b*tch, and the next you're back to being nice. No one knows how to read you and it makes it difficult to judge who it is they're going to get today. No one knows who is the real you.
13. You don't understand reciprocity
All you ever do is take take take, and mooch, and abuse others kindness. You never return any favors and seem incensed when people ask you to maybe foot the bill this time or drive the kids to school because it's their turn.
14. You're a liar
You lie about everything. Even basic things like what you had for lunch. Worse, you are more than willing to throw anyone you can under the bus with lies to save your own skin.
15. You're controlling
You feel like everyone has to do everything your way or else they are incompetent. You steam roll other people and re-do things they've done so it is made your way. No one else can be right or take the reigns on anything without your approval which people very much get tired of you thinking they need to have.
