If I really liked her, then what is time for that matter.
If she was one of those, where I knew quickly, that I could adore her easily, maybe it would be directly releafing for a 39y old like me, that she was just up for it.
+ I'm not one of those; "marriage = sexslave for the rest of your life, under no circumstance are you allowed to get divorced". some people should actually rather get divorced if it doesn't work out, rather then be miserable with each other & let it out on the kids.
Maybe we should just go ahead & try it, & hope for the best... In case I fall for her at first sight & she trieds me well, then why not go to Vegas on that question, & let's get married tomorrow as long as we decide to treat each other with respect, & part as friends rather then "marriage =sexslave" if it doesn't work out, thus one (maybe) stressed stupidedy = lifetime of feeling bad
pardon bad spelling, I'm Danish
People act shocked to hear this. But I’ve heard of marriage success stories were proposals happen even earlier then 6 months.
Of course it’s not a good idea to rush into a decision. I had an opportunity to get married two years ago but it wasn’t for love. It was for a mutually beneficial financial arrangement.
After carefully considering it for 4 months (and getting advice from people I trusted) I declined. But it wasn’t an easy choice. But she proposed the idea when I was emotionally compromised (I was in the beginning of the recovery of a serious addiction.). I just saw too many problems.
But I am NOT anti marriage. Even though I’m picky I would hunker down with the right woman.
This is my current situation. My fiancé proposed to me at the beginning of the week. We technically just made 6 months yesterday. We however moved pretty fast in general. After our second date, he asked me to move in with him. As crazy as it sounds, I did! After 1 month of dating, I met his entire family and children. He told me when he first met me, he was going to marry me. I won’t say our relationship has been perfect. However, this has certainly been the best relationship I’ve ever been in. From what he has shown me, I can actually see myself being happy with him for eternity. I also met him through my older brother. Which is what makes me feel a bit more secure in moving so quickly with him. He knows if he fuc*s with me, my brother will F him up.
It's normal for couples to talk about marriage, but if a man asked me to marry him after being together for only 6 months I'd say no.
That's way too soon to go past the talking stages of marriage (yes, I know some people get married that soon and it works out, however most people that do end up divorced).
6 months isn't enough time to get to know a person, so how do you know you want to marry them?

My wife and I first started talking about marriage about two months into dating. We're also both pretty traditional Catholics, so there was already a commonality of what we wanted in a relationship and from life.
Lots of people discuss marriage, even on a first date, but I'm talking about if she had literally said lets go to the church right now, after 4 months...
Ahh. Speaking from personal experience... don't do it... If you get engaged six months into knowing each other, have at least a 1-year engagement period to make sure this is the person for you. You don't want to end up in a sticky-wicket!
I’d think it was love-bombing, politely decline and probably move on. That sounds creepy and I’ve been through enough traumatizing relationships.
If I had any doubts, I certainly would not, and I would be inclined to just end the relationship. Asking so quickly without knowing the answer shows immaturity.
I would freak out, I would tell him to slow down and I would re-consider the entire relationship reaching the conclusion that it cannot possibly work.
I would ask him to hold his horses. Marriage is a huge step in your life. You don’t want to be stuck with someone you’re not compatible forever. Six months sounds rushed.
Depends on if I felt the same way plus you can always have a long engagement.
Id think he was an absolute ironic , needy , fool... absolutely pathetic.
I'd feel like backing out of that relationship lol 😆😆😆 I couldn't commit to that so soon and like what the lol 😆
I would say she's probably going to be disappointed.
I don't want to say that with absolute certainty. But from what I've seen of women it's probably going to take longer than 6 months to convince me she's the real deal.
When you know, you know. Ask yourself if you value their opinion. Maybe they are smarter than you amd you should listen.
It's happened before. I said I wasn't ready. I'd only do it after a year or so.
It works for some, seriously flattered, but woman you must be out your mind.
Slow down. Give it time. We've only just started.
Marriage is always an automatic no for me, until laws for divorce change its all risk with no gain
Depends on if I thought of us that way by that point or not
At my age, that's way too early.
Annoyed. It's not happening.
In Bonnie Tyler's voice, "Turn around!"
Lol.
That would be a red flag
They feel safe with you, want to start a family.
That’s very fast
I'd think it kinda quick.
In think 6 months is fast, at least a year.
A man wanting that is a green flag
NOT AUTHORIZED TO ANSWER.
he is a gold digger
I’d agree
totally fine
Red flag
I would literally disappear like a cloud if a guy I was dating was like, ready to settle down yet? I heard this story on the radio of this couple who met, married, after 4 months, hence the question. I was thinking, that has got to be nuts. Everyone who called in after her story was like, we give it less than a year to survive.
Nope
Surprised
Run away
