Back in October I ended a serious 4 year relationship. The past few months I have been going out with my girlfriends and having fun just being free to do whatever I want without having to check in.

In the meantime, a guy I used to hang out with (he messed things up the first time we talked by going back to an ex) had started talking to me here and there joking around. Nothing super serious but he sparked my interest back in him again.

This past weekend we were out for my birthday and up until this point we have been just joking around as friends. Well I had quite a bit to drink so I had a hard time hiding the fact that I am still very attracted and into him. A few weekends prior to I had saw him out and started telling him about how I was having issues with this new guy I was talking to. He basically told me that I needed to find someone more like him in a roundabout way.

We had a lot of fun on Saturday night just joking around. I took him outside and kissed him which he didn't seem to mind. He also ended up staying at the same place I was for the night and just cuddled with me all night. He didn't try anything. He told some of my girlfriends that he wanted to take it slow this time and not mess things up.

Last night I text him saying that I was sorry if I said or did anything that was out of line. He text back saying, "No no need to worry about anything. I just don't want to be the guy you go for because I was there and available. That's the impression I got." I said well I guess time will prove to you that's not the case. He said back, "Well for now lets keep it at a friend level." Then we kept joking like we normally do.

WHY? Why would he want to keep it at a friend level? I really like him but I assume he doesn't take me too seriously since a few weekends ago I talked about this other guy that was texting me.
