Hi Guys/Gals,

I live abroad and recently a new guy moved into the house next door. He's new to the country but very energetic and positive. He always offers to bring me shopping on his way home, and, sometimes buys things he knows I 'll like in case I haven't got anything for dinner. We also hang out of an evening, and, he's brought friends around to introduce them to me. His body language is all in my direction, for example he is always facing me, even if I move, he'll adjust his position. Plus he's always leaning in my direction on the couch and sitting right up close next to me to show me videos on his phone. When I asked him if he'd tried a particular activity and recommended he go do it, he said "that sounds great; you and me'll go and do it". He teases me as well, in a nice way and is quite flirty but hasn't made any obvious opening move though there's a lot of eye contact and he blushes a lot when I tease him. He's also offered to cook me dinner. I do feel like there's some chemisty but I don't know if it's all on my end or not as I haven't dated in a long while.

The thing is, he mentioned he has a girlfriend back home. But, I'm wondering if since we met he's in the early stages of reconsidering their relationship and perhaps asking me out. Here's where I'm confused though. He mentioned in passing that he had real feelings for her but wasn't sure what to do because he doesn't want to go back home and she doesn't want to leave the country to live with him, and, he said he would have to discuss it with her next time he went home. I wasn't sure why he brought it up... he didn't seem too upset... He was also talking about how moving abroad changes your perspective.

Was he sounding me out to see how I reacted to the possibility of his being available? Or, was he asking my advice, thereby putting me in the 'Friendzone'. What's my move?

I'm new at this and I feel like a deer in the headlights. I'm sorry for the length of this.

There is this guy (isn't there always?) - he's 18. There have always been this tension between us although supposedly purely platonic. I did not dare to complicate it as we are classmates and I wouldn't want to screw up our friendship. We have been friends for a year and the past six months, we have grown quite close. He finally let down his guards and he is now being completely honest and somehow vulnerable when hanging out just the two of us. None of our classmates know about us.

We've had several of those nights where we would cuddle and talk about each others' dreams and interests all night without taking it further. If something should happen, it should be because I wanted to. After a couple of months, I decided to go all the way and since then, he has been asking to hang out at night and one night, I accepted.
He then jumped through my window and we ended up talking, laughing, kissing and listening to LP records all night. We did not go further since that one night as I had unfortunately grown feelings for him and I don't want to end up feeling used when that's not the case. Then he kissed me goodnight and drove home.

It confused me that I no longer felt that it was purely platonic and therefore, I told him that I would back off into friendzone before I catch feelings and start regretting. He made it clear that he did not see it coming, then warned me not to get my hopes too high and told me to do what suited me the best. It was a relief - I felt as if he set me free. Meanwhile getting over him, his other close friend is unfortunately crushing on me and I do not want him to be a rebound (he's really sweet). I suppose it might get awkward between the three of us.

The problem is that even though my close friend knew I wanted distance, he keeps texting me at night, asking about my day and so on.

Should I stay his friend or cut him off completely?
