I am the whitest shade of white that you have ever seen in your life. There is no doubt about this. However, I am confident with my white skin. I think it looks beautiful, especially when women or men have white skin with dark hair. I love how it looks.

I just want to know if my opinion is normal or in the minority.

I am black, but I have a white mother, and though my facial features look like that of a black person, my skin color is much closer to my mother's than my father's. I basically sort of look like a black person with skin almost as pale as a white person. Sort of like this.

My girlfriend, however. She is white, blonde hair, blue eyes, typical white people traits. Usually, by default, she is slightly lighter than me... not by a lot, but she is.

However, she likes to go to the pool and beach a lot, and when she gets a tan, she becomes WAY darker than me, lol. Sort of like this.

As such, I find it extremely ironic that even though she's white, her skin is often times darker than my own due to tanning. She's white, I'm black, but sometimes she's darker than me. As such, it feels rather ironic to refer to her as "white", lol.

I know that tanning won't change your race, but in that time while her tan is really on, I wish I could refer to her as "gold" or "brown" rather than "white", because that's what she looks like.
