I can think of three type of parents:
a) Those that would already disown their kids for dating or marrying someone they never approve, being gay, changing majors or other minor stuff.

b) Those that only disown their kids after they are really drug/sex addicts, have taken the wrong path, done something seriously terrible such as murder or repeated the same offense more than once.

c) Those that still stand by their child till the end even if him/her committed murder and would still visit them in prison. An example to this would be serial killers Jeffrey Dahmer's father or Ted Bundy's mother.

I'm from a Muslim family. So, I'm wearing a dress today which is kinda translucent near the belly. It shows, well. So, there were guests today at my house, they're my mother's brother and his wife. Seeing me, they were shouting at me. About why I would wear something like this. Well, I wore it because my parents bought it for me. My parents didn't have a problem with it. So, why would these guys have one? And anyway, my dad and I are not really strict believers. We believe in God, and his Messenger and everything. But not the restrictions Islam puts on us. But these guys, my uncle and aunt, they're seriously blind believers! They wear the traditional all-body-covered Islamic clothes etc. So, did my dad and I ever shout at them for that? Why do they have to shout at me? It's a free country! I'm allowed to do anything I like! Why the f*** would they tell me what to do and what not?

Okay, there's more. I asked them about the World Cup. Which teams they supported. And they were like, "We don't watch football. We should not. Because these people are mostly Christians and Jews." Okay, what the hell? We're all HUMAN! For God's sake. Stop thinking other people are sh**!

Do you think I should be valuing their words? And start wearing what they tell me to wear? And cut myself out from the rest of the world, because I'm Muslim and others are not?
