I started this job last week as a server in a hotel restaurant. I guess there is only one other server who wasn’t there on the two days I got trained by management. Her name is Rudi. I guess there used to be another server there who Rudi got fired or she quit or something of that extent, all within the last week. I never met the other girl. People in other departments are saying Rudi let off hidden stink bombs around the building and was blaming the other girl and clogging toilet stalls and intentionally misplacing or not putting back stuff after the shift was over and just damaging the property out of sight of cameras and blaming it on the other girl and it all went down hill from there. What’s weird is people were saying they got along well and then out of the blue, Rudi went crazy and was being a backstabbed and telling HR and all this stuff and either the girl got fired or quit and she still plays the victim to this day. Half of the people think it was Rudi but there’s no proof. Rudi also started about a month ago and before she even started working there, there was NO drama. She starts working there and all this drama happens. Every week it’s something new but of course Rudi is innocent. Everyone says you can’t be mean to her or confront her or she will tell management on you and management will yell at you. I just met her today and she didn’t really talk to me at first and then she asked me for ibuprofen and I warned her that two people that don’t like her are in the break room and I went and got her ibuprofen and she then tried to ask who the names of the people are and I told her and then she tried gossiping about them and I stopped her mid convo and said I really have to get back to work, I will see you after break is over. Then on lunch she came in and sat near me and I packed my stuff up and said have a nice lunch with a fake smile and ate somewhere else.

I’ve been at the same company for 3 years, but 3 months ago they created a position specifically for me. One of the people on my team, my lead, fought really hard for me to get the job.
But I’m just not feeling that happy. It’s a competitive environment and people are constantly gossiping.

I've been invited to interview for another job (same job title, but at a pet company) which appeals to me. I think I would like it there.

But if i leave my current job after 3 months, I’m going to burn bridges since they created the role for me. My lead in particular is going to hate me.

What do i do?
