My husband and I have been married for two months. I cheated on him about 2 years ago in the early days, and after we talked and I tried leaving him because I knew he never really would forgive me, we decided to stay together and work through it, and he surprised me with a marriage proposal this past summer. We had talked about it, but I didn't know if he was ready. Well, 2 months later almost every time we drink and party and hang out, he constantly brings up divorce and says he's unhappy and depressed, and doesn't really work on our relationship. I've done everything I can to show him I want to build trust and that it's never going to happen again, but I feel it's not working. He will say he loves me and say he wants to be with me forever, and I understand this doesn't go away in a day but he's also running my emotions all over the place. He has agreed to go to counseling, and I hope it helps. Some of the issues behind my actions were because of things he was doing and the majority was just selfishness and emotional shut down on my end.

My ex and I put off counseling for 6+ months that we needed it and our relationship suffered big time. We finally started last week and it went pretty well but he seemed to have given up on the relationship already. A few days later, he said he wanted "a break" and then we officially broke up a few more days after that.

Yet he still texts and calls and he still wants to go to counseling. What gives? Should I keep going or no?
