For some weird reason, skeleton keys came straight to my mind and I want to get your views on what skeleton keys actually does. Have you ever had any experience using skeleton keys? If so, what have you learned about skeleton keys?

I heard a person tell me that it is only open end and not closed end, meaning they can unlock many devices but they can't lock them back. Is this true or was this person trying to trick me since I don't have an in depth knowledge of skeleton keys? I thought an expert both me there are open only end keys and closed only end keys. I'm pretty sure skeleton keys don't only lock and not unlock so left that choice off the poll options.

OK, so here's the thing, obviously thecnology will always march into the future, and I'm not completely against it, but I do feel there are aspects of life modern man is lacking because of our dependance on technology (yes I realize the irony of using a device such as my phone that has more computing power than the old computers that took up whole rooms).

I own and use a typewriter, yes I own a laptop aswell, but I find typing out my words on a heavy, sometime finicky machine to be very rewarding. I also enjoy hand writing, in fact the three novels I'm writing are all done on pads before I type them up on my typewriter, then afterwards I type them on my laptop. Up untilled very recently the only digital camera I've ever owned was my cell phone, and I love shooting on film, processing my negatives, and printing in a darkroom. I only use GPS when it's much more convenient, and prefer Orienteering with a map and compass. I have hunted and gathered for food, and find prepairing my own meals from nature much more rewarding to buying it from a store. I could go on and on really, but I won't bore you all.

The question is: Is technology creating a dumb race of humans, or is it just naturally progressing, and the old skills are un-needed? What do you think?
