When I was around 3 years old, I was sexually abused by my mother. Then at around 4 years old my mother abandoned me by leaving me in a government center and walking away forever.

I moved in with my grandparents because my father was homeless. My grandparents saw that I was a child that was mute, had trouble speaking due to an attached frenulum layer in my tongue, and I was a Black/Native American child moving in with grandparents that were white.

For many years I have had strong feelings that I was labeled "handicapped" by my grandmother without getting the emotional support that I needed to deal with the sexual abuse and abandonment that tortured me. Instead, I met with education supports on math, reading, and speech. At 3rd grade I was no longer in "Special Education" and continued to remain in normal classes but without the additional help. I went on to graduate high school, get a bachelor's degree, and then a masters degree. But I am left with so many underlying emotional issues with the sexual abuse and such. I haven't told my grandparents about the sexual abuse yet.

Anyways, the point is that I had always believed that the assistance I received was education based because I never talked to any professional about what happened to me or how I felt about myself emotionally. But my therapist today says that the special education that I received WAS a form of therapy. He says that there is a therapy model that treats behavior and learning struggles rather than trying to get to the bottom of an issue.

Is this true? Or is my therapist just bullshitting me by suggesting that a special education teacher is the same as a specialized therapist?

Just because I have long black hair doesn't make me a rock star, metal head, goth, emo or punk. As long as I keep it clean.

If so, in what context do you work with hypnosis?

Would you hypnotize your boyfriend if he asked you to?

So my cousin wants to study at a Japanese university (idk why he would do that to himself, probably too much anime) with a scholarship and he's using this test as practice, 7 questions, 1 hour.

If you're a teacher, would you use this test on high school students?

To me, this looks like what I would expect to see on a test of middle school students entering high school, not high school students entering university... Essentially to breeze through this you need to know quadratic equations, functions & graphs, probability rules & how to count, simple algebraic identities, basic geometry of congruent triangles, circles, Pythagorean theorem. Nothing really at high school level (integrals, derivatives, vectors, analytic geometry, solid geometry, trigonometry, classical inequalities etc.), though question 3 does require you to know a tiny bit of logic, so it's probably harder than the rest.

Rank the questions from easiest to hardest? (for example 1 < 2 < 3 < 4 < 5 < 6 < 7)

Also congrats to @jemini_crocket for passing her Math test, all she did this summer were playing video games, went on dates and worked a part time job. I am very proud of her 👏👏👏

So I started work last Tuesday but I don't get paid until the 24th. My mom was telling me that usually you don't get paid for your first week and that I'll only be paid for the next two weeks. If so than why is that?

Ladies love a man in uniform (or so they say), which uniform on a man is most attractive?

Girls tend to develop certain skills earlier than boys: for example, the ability to sit still and stay attentive. More often than not, most students will do just that — sit for long periods of time and listen attentively — or else suffer a lower grade or disciplinary action. Yet, girls are outperforming boys at all levels of the educational ladder, from kindergarten to graduate school. Boys score as well as or better than girls on most standardized tests, yet they are far less likely to get good grades, take advanced classes or attend college.

Your Thoughts?

Today I went to band camp. We basically go over new songs in school band and stuff. It’s not really required but we get letter points.

I kinda think it sucks a lot because it’s still the summer time. Plus it’s not exactly fun and takes up most of the day.
