Laughing at the idea of ghosts is insulting, since you wouldn't want to be laughed at when you become a ghost.
Denying the existence of ghosts would be offensive to the Holy Ghost, since it is a denial of His children.
Considering ghosts to be demons is a serious violation of Matt.7:1-2's judge not. Imagine yourself being thought a demon.
Wanting your house to be ghost free is very antisocial and disrespectful to your elders who have passed on.
Being nervous or afraid in the presence of ghosts is wimpy and cowardly.
Attempting to remove ghosts from a residence is cruel, as you would want a home after you passed on. Ghosts are people too.

I'd rather cease to exist. Humans definitely won't be on earth for much longer when compared with infinity, so I'd Imagine that "forever" would feel very bland. Especially; with no interactions. To me, that would be worse...

It is unpardonable and it is equal to blaspheming the Holy Ghost
