Is mocking tongues really the unpardonable sin and is that the same as Blasphemy against the Holy Ghost?

According to whoever is responsible for writing at this website, they tend to give much Bible scripture suggesting that the Blasphemy of the Holy Ghost is mocking tongues. Do you agree or disagree and why? Please give your best answer.

I voted F, as I'm pretty sure that real tongue speaking no longer exists in our 21st century, although I could be wrong. I am unaware of any case that has been authenticated. I was taught the tongue speaking and other spiritual gifts were only to exist until Christian Scripture was completed. A chief passage they used was 1st Corinthians 13:8-10: "Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. For we know in part, and we prophecy in part. but when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away."

Note Acts chapter 2: vs. 4: "nd they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance." vs. 12-13: "And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this? Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine." But the men were in no way declared permanently condemned. Instead, Peter declared to them (vs. 38) "Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."

And today it is very understandable to mock tongue speaking, since so much of modern tongue speaking is apparently fake. And according to Scripture, tongue speakers were to have an interpreter, where today's so-called tongue speakers do not. Or they're supposed to speak in a language that is recognized by another person as a real language, and which language the tongue speaker never learned or studied. Besides, it is not in God's nature to condemn anyone based on just one action of their life. Everyone who will be lost will be lost because their ongoing pattern of behavior over years went and stayed far away from God.

I picked F, but I think some nuance is required. There is a phenomenon known as glossolalia which is known to be more frequent in religious contexts in which a person believes they’re speaking in a foreign language of some sort. The problem of course is that when we’ve studied these phenomena there’s no evidence it’s actually a language, rather it seems to just be people babbling (Medical term not being mean) incoherently. In real languages certain vocalizations are matched with ideas or objects. So, for example if when I said “moof” I was consistently referencing a tree then we could understand that was my word for a tree. However with the phenomena of speaking in tongues there’s no consistent linkage between words and ideas. So in one context the person will say “moof” referencing a tree, and in the next will say “moof” referencing a dog.

Now, onto the particular question at hand. Is it an unforgivable sin to mock speaking in tongues? I’m not aware of any direct quote from the Bible that would lead one to that conclusion. The frequently cited “unforgivable sin” is that of blaspheming the Holy Spirit. Unfortunately nobody knows what this really means as a simple google search will show you. The general consensus as I understand it though is that disbelief is blaspheming the Holy Spirit, if this is a proper understanding of the verses then it would mean that all sins can be forgiven, except the sin of not believing. This makes sense to me as it seems in line with the rest of NT theology. With that as our standard, such is mocking speaking in tongues the same as disbelief? No, nonbelievers may mock speaking in tongues, but believers do so as well (at least if we trust them to be believers).

Yep. The gifts of the spirit is a fruitful one that is given to those who are called to use them in a mighty and godly way. It edifies the spirit of the Lord and increases intimacy with him. It is NEVER okay to mock the things of God. He takes it very seriously and is as unacceptable as bullying is and taking the Lord's name in vain. Many people, especially some Christians or believers are not mature enough to appreciate what God has to offer, but yet, use, abuse and grow envious of others who move up in the spirit while they stay stagnate and grow bitter because they had no blessing.

This is very dangereous to say to a person he have committed the unforgivable sin. If you read the KJV wich is the true bible , the holy ghost word. That sin happen 2000 years ago, that sin been made by the pharesee. They saw real miracle right in front of them, they saw God in person (Jesus is part of the trinity 1 john 5:6-7.) They knew Jesus was from God, But in that time the Kabalah was with the authority of Israel. Herod, pharesee, scribe, name it. So they decide to uncredit Jesus miracles by saying he was doing it by Satan, for the profit of their Power, they had during that time. They did what the Pharao did with Moises. In Roman chapter 8-9 Paul explain why they did this. There's the point: A lots of Charismatics put condamnations on poeples who saw what they are doing. Their hoax. The danger is that, if that person beleive them, his reality will be depression and Somes haved committed suicide on that bad wrath from supposed christians leaders. Remember Jesus did condamned that sort of condamnation. Mathew 18:6. The holy spirit sin is not only saying miracle of jesus is from satan, but if you understand matt 18:6 is also poeples who put condamnation over christian without having that authority. Those who have rightfully studied scripture should know that the "gift of tongues" didn't refer to speaking in angelic tongues but speaking actual real life languages due to the fact that people spoke so many different languages and it was a gift given by the Holy Spirit so that they could minister to all the peoples of the nations. These spiritual gifts were given as evidence that the work of the apostles was truly of God and not mere man, thus when the Apostles finished their work on earth these gifts passed away along with them.

Tongues is a false prophesy. All sorts of cults even in India and China speak in tonguesf, and scientific attempts to "verify" tongues has shown that it causes brain damage in some people who practice it a lot.

The Book of Proverbs says "Wisdom is the principal thing, therefore get wisdom and with all your getting, get Understanding." (Proverbs 4: 7).

Tongues is not Wisdom nor Understanding, therefore it violates the Old Testament commandments.

"By Wisdom God Created the Heaven and the Earth", not by tongues and not by "Faith" either.

Tongues itself is blasphemy. Witches and devil worshipers and voodoos and all other pagan religions speak in 'TONGUES". IT does nothing to validate a supposed word from God. If God wants to speak to you and any alleged congregation He'll do it in the majority language of the congregation.

God speaks to me in Dreams and Visions all the time about coming disasters. i tell people, and they refuse to beliee it was God even after the fact. The point is God can speak to everyone, and he doesn't need "tongues" to do it.

I'm going to go with * OTHER* - which is not one of your options. I really don't know if speaking in tongues happens any more.

No human on this planet is capable pardoning a sin, although the Catholic Church thinks so! MY understanding of "blaspheming the Holy Spirit" (it's not a ghost), has to do with worshipping the devil and selling your soul in that sense (which isn't yours to sell in the first place, but that's another story).

I can't speak for the Almighty, so I'm not certain if that indeed is an unforgiveable sin. What I am confident of though, as mentioned above, is that no priest has the authority to make your 'earthly wrongdoings' go away.

The thing about tongues is it was virtually unheard of till the early 20th century when charismatic (Pentecostal) church’s came into being. Why is it tongues is on done in charismatic church’s? Are you telling me the other Protestant (Baptist, Methodist, Nazarene etc) churches are Godless? Then why does that bullshit only happen in charismatic church’s?

"Speaking in tongues" just means using a language that the person in question wasn't at all familiar with, and this is presented as some kind of "miracle". It doesn't mean what some batty American fundamentalists think it does (i. e. babbling like a complete retard, which I've seen them do).

I have seen people speaking in fake tongues and inflicting lots of damage on others. I think it's important to call it out. I am not 100% sure if anyone still speaks it, but I am 100% sure that lots of tongues that I heard were false/demonic.
