So here is the situation. My son stole a few things from my neighbor, won't go into specifics. My son is 10 years old. When i found out about it i was upset... and honestly disappointed. I didn't yell at him, spank him or anything like that, instead i said to him, "Why do you think you have a right to take that from him? What gives you that right?" he replied "Because i wanted it" So i took his ipad from him. He said "Hey why'd you take that?" I said "Because i wanted it" He demanded it back, and i told him no, at this point he is crying.. I told him that no matter how much he cried nothing would change. I said if he wanted it back he would return what he stole, He would apologize to my neighbor, he would beg the neighbor to give him a task to do to make up for the theft, he would do what ever he was told for as long as he was told to do it, and when he got back he would notice his laptop, ipad and Nintendo Switch gone, hidden. I told him that he would spend the next year earning these items back as he earns back our trust, so that he understands no child of mine would be a thief.

Was i too hard on him?

So I'm an entrepreneur who has earned a great fortune and I want to finally leave the state I never left before and explore. I'm going to unplug the TV and get off social media and have new experiences, learning new skills and work on achievements. I have a bucket list of things I've wanted to do since I was a child. Some of these adventures will be a workation and some I will have my trusted associate do my work for me (which I hired him to do and pay handsomely to do it), so my assets are covered. These adventures could be a weekend local experience to traveling to another part of the world for up to 3 months or even longer, it could be a simple stroll and it could be a risky dangerous journey.
But how would this effect dating? Would you date someone like this? Would this effect your career? Would you go with your partner? If not are willing to have a partner who leaves up to ~3 months to go on an adventure that might be dangerous?
